Expectations are everything when selecting a hotel and is property has strengths and weaknesses that should be weighed against your specific needs. Let's talk about why some should not select this property: 1) No elevator and roughly ten steps up/down to access the property. If you or someone in your party is disabled, BE AWARE of this constraint. That also means that someone in your party needs to be strong enough to lug your too heavy suitcase up/down those stairs. 2) No 24/7 desk clerk - but a telephone # that IS answered when someone isn't at the desk. 3) No breakfast. Actually, a plus, because this limitation will force you to explore and find fantastic restaurants that are within a 1–3-minute walk away. 4) No gym. 5) No lobby to gather with friends or other guests. 6) It's located on a busy street so if road noise bothers you, either avoid or bring earplugs. 7) Total of ten rooms, so larger groups will exceed the hotel's capacity. None of those were deal breakers for us, so this list (no particular order) was why we greatly enjoyed our stay: 1) Rooms were VERY clean and efficiently configured. 2) A well-designed and function shower that didn't soak the entire bathroom floor. If you're an American, washcloths pretty much don't exist in Israel - bring your own if you will miss this creature comfort. 3) An in-room hot pot and small (quiet) refrigerator, coffee and tea are supplied. 4) An individual room AC unit that rapidly cooled the room. 5) What a view! Be sure to spend some quiet time on the end of hallway porch. 6) Location, location, location. Right below the base of the Baha'i Gardens with multiple EXCELLENT restaurants mere feet away from the hotel's entrance. 7) Friendly and through maid service. 8) A very helpful, engaging and friendly manager that if not on site, was always available via a phone call. 9) A very reasonable room charge for the quality of the property. 10) Bus stops are very close by. Download and install the MOOVIT app (skip the paid version) and learn how to navigate the excellent bus/train system in Haifa. 11) Charm vs the more institutional chains like Dan Panorama. 12) Typical Spa of the Sea soap/shampoo/bodywash are generously supplied. Our one and only test is this: Having visited a property, would we unquestionably book it again? City Port = 100% yes.
