All the staff are friendly.
Number of items on the breakfast buffet. Western food, Sri Lankan food, Indian food, so you won't get tired of it every day.
There are two pools, so you don't have to be crowded.
There was a gym and a daily program, and I participated in morning and evening training sessions, but since I was the only one there, I was given one-on-one instruction, which was really fun.
The cleaners are very friendly.
The room was spacious and I could hear the birds singing.
Being able to see the sunset on the nearby beach every day.

When I wanted to grab a few drinks and grab a bite to eat in the evening, the Italian restaurant was closed and when I tried to use the bar, there weren't many vegetarian or vegan options.
Nothing around.
The nearby beach has too high waves for swimming.

GGinge55* hotel booked to end our trip in style.
Bar staff and cleaners were super happy, polite and love to great the guests in the hotel.
Reception staff were generally unhelpful. I tried to book activities and excursions, but was initially told to go the hotel next door before being given a random book
While trying to sort late check out one receptionist began serving another customer over my head. Late check out was eventually agreed to which was helpful but after being sat face to face in silence for minutes.
Facilities are wonderful. Nice private beach, great pool area. Two bars and buffet style restaurant with ala carte option.
Locals got charged significantly less for our event dinner. Some would say that's fair, others would disagree, but not being transparent probably suggests it was trying to be hidden.
Service wasn't 5*. When we arrived our bedding was ripped and had a huge hole in it. Thankfully this was fixed, but I think atleast 2/3 people came to check before it was resolved.

We booked a room with 2 double beds (alternatively 2 single bed) for a higher price because that's what we wanted - when we checked in, we were given a room with 1 double bed. Unfortunately the bed couldn't be spitted and no other room was available (which we highly doubted, as we were one of the early one's checking in that day).
We received a very soft co-sleeper bed...
The first night, we went to bed quite early as we were exhausted from the day. Suddenly, there was banging on the door - up to 10 times - before I was awake enough to open the door to 2 service guys from the hotel, giving me some cut fruits and 4 pralines - at 10:30pm!? I was totally confused by the time and behaviour...
Also the personnel wasn't of great help when asked regarding directions, post office, or else...
We just didn't like the experience we had in this hotel.

MM251887****The food was so delicious. You must book their ocean-view room, which is big and bright. The front desk was super nice and suggested that we upgrade to the ocean side instead of the railway side, because the railway side is a little noisy when the train passes by. The ocean side will not have this problem at all. The key is to eat roasted pig's trotters in Sri Lanka, which is so delicious!!!

The pool added a refreshing touch to the stay, perfect for relaxation. However, the bar area can get quite lively, especially when there's a DJ. If you're looking for a quieter evening, it might be wise to request a room further from the noise. Overall, a fantastic stay with just a small note for those preferring a more tranquil night.
