This is a dilapidated, rundown motel that’s not even cheap. We paid almost $500 with ******* and after taking one look after checkin, I told my husband “I cannot stay here”. Since it was no cancellation through *******, we offered to pay for one night and get a refund for the second night if we did not stay, but the owner was so obstinate that he was willing to ruin his business rather than be honest and fair with a guest. I did not expect 5 star accommodations, but I do expect some value for what we paid. We were defrauded and it is evidenced by the owner’s unwillingness to work with us. I forfeited $500 and we went elsewhere rather than stay in these terrible conditions. Be very careful before making a reservation at the Western Motel in Gunnison.

I have stayed there 5 years in a row during elk hunting season. I miss the old owner Ed. It's clean when you check in, but I stayed 9 days and they cleaned the room only on the 8th day. I talked to the owner and he gave the usual covid excuse. But that won't cut it. The one housekeeper they have is nice, and she did a good job when scheduled, but she is clearly overworked. Hire someone, or clean the rooms every 3-4 days yourself. Wifi weak. It's ok and cheap. but there is a reason it's cheap. Thin staff, bad wifi, old rooms.
