⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The rooftop view of Guilin Port House is amazing! The 9th floor is under renovation, I thought I would miss the beautiful view. Fortunately, Miss YanHong took us up to see the view enthusiastically. When you step into the 9th floor, you will see the construction site. When you walk to the balcony, you will feel like you are in a dreamland above the city. The view upstairs is very wide. The landscape painting of Guilin unfolds slowly in front of you. The mountains in the distance are like dark blue, and the city streets nearby is amazing. The layout of the building is exquisite, adding a bit of vitality and comfort. Miss YanHong took us to see the night view at 8:30. The lights were on, shining like stars, this is a great place to relax, whether it is a couple hugging to watch the sunset, or chatting with friends to enjoy the night view (I chatted with YanHong, who I just met, for 2 hours upstairs). Really enjoyed my stay !

First of all, I made a mistake in my judgment. I thought a 2-meter bed would be more spacious because I had a child. As a result, I ignored the special features of a round bed. Those who have never slept on a round bed should give up immediately. People will fall asleep on it and it is very uncomfortable. Secondly, there is a big round hole in the middle of the bed. It will be uneven when sleeping, which will hurt your waist!!! It is not easy to take pictures

My friend and I came to Guilin for the first time. We chose this hotel after seeing the good reviews online. It was already quite dark when we arrived at the hotel that day. The waiter was very good and enthusiastic. He made us feel very friendly and introduced us to various local attractions and food. Although the room was not big, it was very clean and tidy, and the price-performance ratio was high. It is worth staying!

Really enjoyed the family room (booked 2 different room types while I was there). Highly recommend it. Breakfast was also accommodating to western palates. If you visit during the colder months they only have a heating system and no air-conditioning, found this out the hard way as we set it to 18C and hot air was still blasting. We just turned the system off and kept our windows open which was good enough. Some of our rooms smelled like smoke but i guess it really wasn’t the hotel’s fault since they have clear No Smoking signs along the walls.

A very good experience, whether it is service, environment or facilities, the overall is good. It is also close to the scenic spot, and the breakfast is also very rich~ The little bear towel is also very cute~

My first impression of Shangri La Guilin is that many staff speak English proficiently or at least the basics that are required for their job. I arrived an hour and a half before the check in time but they promptly checked me into my room without any long wait. My luggage was taken to my room by a bell boy whose English was even better than the front of the house. My initial thoughts of the room was that it was quite old fashioned and the interior design & amenities were dated in comparison to most 5 star hotels. The view however was exceptional. I could clearly see the garden, river and mountains. After my first night I was woken by some loud music. Though the staff tried to tell the dancers that playing the music was disruptive to their guests, they continued to play it which further frustrated me. I informed the guest manager Edward who was very helpful in rectifying this. He upgraded me into a much nicer room that he ensured me should be quieter. They also gave me complimentary fruits in the room which added to the nice gesture. This is exactly the kind of quality of service that earns them a 5 star rating. Carl at the front desk was also very competent and was very helpful when I had to pay for something through wechat. The room I came with was a package deal that included breakfast, spa voucher, photoshoot and club privileges. It was worth the extra cost as the all inclusive club buffet during happy hour was filling and tasty (photo attached). Breakfast was a Chinese buffet with a fusion of western basics such as cereal, toast and bakery items. If you have the time, I would highly recommend seeing Kelly (English name) for a ”signature Asian” massage at the spa. She applied the perfect pressure for me and was very kind. The photoshoot was organised through wechat and included 6 photos. The photographer was lovely and the final photos made special memories of my time in China. Suggestions for improvement: several items in the room are in need of repair or replacement eg. old hair dryer that lightly blows air (useless), flickering lights when you turn it on and the phones. I also think if they were to refurbish the pools outside then the place would appear less worn down. Overall, the service and reputation is what made this stay worth it. I look forward to staying at Shangri La again

Location is amazing right by a food and local market. Very close to elephant hill and two river, four lakes. Wifi was good and staffs are helpful. We had a nice stay. I got two beds room and Room size was small. It's better to get bigger room if many bags

Super friendly staff and big and comfortable rooms. Very clean. Small complaint is the noise outside given it's close to a busy area. But otherwise great place to stay - highly recommended

What a wonderful experience for us all as a family. When we saw the room, we instantly felt comfortable. Their warm welcome made us feel like home. We can't wait to come back again and will surely recommend to friends and family. Their fresh breakfast was so enjoyable, made from fresh ingredients and also allowing us tourist to enjoy local foods and they were all delicious! We received cute keychains as gifts for my boys and they loved ut. So thoughtful of them. Thank you so much for giving us a beautiful experience.

We stayed for two nights in the family room. The room was large (with a separate sitting area) and very clean. Location was excellent, walking distance to the sun and moon twin towers and plenty of eateries around. The hotel has washing machines and dryers on site free of charge. Breakfast range was very good for a hotel this size.
