Return stay after a short trip to Yang Shou. Just 5 min walk from Guilin North station. Hotel is very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Was upgraded to a bigger room with mountain view . Breakfast has wide spread and reasonably priced. Pleasantly surprised that hotel upgraded with free breakfast . All in all a very pleasant stay.

Very satisfied with the stay! Because the train arrived in the morning, I asked the boss if I could go in early. As a result, the room was immediately prepared for me and I could store my luggage in the hotel the next day. We arrived very late and left very early the next day so the location right across the train station was super convenient for us. The check in took a bit longer than expected because a lot of people from the train station were also checking in and there were only 2 people working at reception when we arrived. Check-out went much faster.
The room was as advertised, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable it was a pity we had to leave so early.

This place was outstanding! They let us check in early. It was spacious, sparkling clean, high quality, and felt new. It's right by the train station, super convenient. They were so friendly and provided lots of nice amenities like disposable towels, water, slippers etc. The cleaning lady is very kind, too. They had a nice TV, fridge, washing machine, even a disinfecting machine, which we'd never seen before. They even told me when I forgot my charger in the room and sent it to me! Definitely stay here. You will not be disappointed!

The hotel’s location is another highlight. Nestled in a vibrant area, it’s just a short walk to a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops, making it incredibly convenient to explore the local scene. Whether you're looking for a cozy café or a lively nightlife spot, everything is within easy reach.
One of the standout features of my stay was the hotel restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, with an emphasis on local cuisine that truly showcased the flavors of the region. The beautiful views from the restaurant added an extra layer of enjoyment to each meal, making it a truly memorable dining experience.
Additionally, my room offered stunning views as well, allowing me to wake up to breathtaking scenery each morning. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches provided by the hotel, such as complimentary tea upon arrival. It was a lovely way to unwind after a long journey. MMachi GIt has been a memorable stay for us. The hotel is conveniently located within a 15-minute walk to the Twin Pagoda, the Elephant Hill, and Zhenyang Pedestrian St. Besides, they are many good restaurants around the vicinity. Our selected rooms are huge with minimal chic design. Friendly service staff. Loved the chat service via Wechat, where we could book our transport to and fro the Railway Station. There's complimentary dessert served to our room. On top of that, they even printed our favourite photos taken during our stay and have it framed for us for free!!! And the robot delivered to our room. We will miss talking to Shishi in the Wechat asking about our needs. This is a very interactive hotel where communications are done through their Wechat, and you get prompt services. Good breakfast varities and friendly service staff. Highly recommended to try the local Guilin dry noodle at breakfast. It is as good as those outside. We will miss staying in this hotel. Thanks you SYYF hotel!

Even before I arrived, the staff went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. I received a message the day before my reservation to call the hotel. When I called, they asked if they could send me a message on Wechat as they didn’t speak English. The staff simply wanted to know my eta so that they could turn the a/c on in the room to cool it down before I arrived.
The hotel is more of a BnB set up than a hotel - similar to a house design. The building is 5 stories high with I guess around 4 rooms on each floor. This makes it perfect to escape the large tourist groups which frequent bigger hotels.
When the taxi pulled up outside on the day of my arrival, 2 staff members rushed out to welcome me. Check-in was quick and they told me that they had upgraded me to a bigger room. They also asked me what I wanted for breakfast the next day as they had some different ‘Western’ options (think Chinese idea of Western but still okay). I was able to have toast and fried eggs every day.
The room is really exquisite - I came alone but would definitely recommend for couples as the bathtub is heavenly.
The two balconies offer beautiful views of the karst mountains. The room is also tastefully done up in wicker and white. And the bedding is luxurious. My only recommendation for the room is to add some sachets of instant coffee.
The pool is perfect for a cool down and what a spectacular view from the loungers!
I swam every day and every day while sitting by the pool, the staff brought me some refreshing lemon water to drink. In addition, every day of my stay they brought me something: day 1 - fresh watermelon and some blueberry thing (candy?), day 2 - baby tomatoes and more blueberry things day 3 - apples and peanuts. On checkout, they prepared a local snack and water bottle for the trip home.
The staff at this hotel really go the extra mile and just about bend over backwards to serve you. It’s been a long time since I have seen such eager staff and it makes for a very pleasant change from bored receptionists on their phones.
I cannot rate the hotel highly enough for their excellent hospitality service.
The location is also perfect - away from the main ***** but an easy 15 minute walk to the river rafts and another 5-10min to the ‘town’ and a variety of eating options. That’s when you turn left when you get to the main road from the hotel (5min walk). Turn right at this road and you can comfortably walk (30 min?) to some other sites like the one with the hole in the mountain (overrated) and an exquisite cave - Dragon cave. If you like caves and the formations within I highly rate this cave. It is truly gorgeous. You can also rent bikes or a scooter 10m in front of the hotel.
The staff do not speak English but they communicate via WeChat and are more than happy to help with anything.

It is very close to Shili Gallery. The scenery is beautiful. The service in the hotel is very considerate and answers all questions. The complimentary items in the hotel are quite good, including travel photography and essential oil massage. We are very satisfied with the travel photography, which recorded our beautiful memories. I booked my stay at the Shixi Landscape Hotel in Yangshuo, Guilin, through Trip.com. The check-in process was very smooth and didn’t take long at all. One pleasant surprise was the option to upgrade our room for free, which we accepted. This upgraded room came with a lovely balcony. Although the staff couldn’t speak English, they were very friendly and helpful. Using a translation app made communication easy.

We stayed in a standard double room with an upgrade to a balcony room. The room also featured a bathtub, which was a nice touch. Upon entering, the room was fairly clean, though there were some water stains on the floor and the carpet had a few dirty spots. The amenities were average, including a selection of soft drinks in the minibar and some snacks on the table. Despite these minor cleanliness issues, the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep.
Facilities and Services
The hotel had a restaurant where we received a complimentary breakfast upgrade. Unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet our expectations. While the Chinese food selection seemed okay, the international options were quite disappointing. The sausages were undercooked, the bacon was not good, and the cereal options looked and tasted stale. The only decent international option was toast with butter. It’s a relief we didn’t pay extra for it.
Although I noticed the hotel had a spa, gym, and pool, I didn’t get a chance to use them. The pool looked nice but was small and shallow, not suitable for a serious swim. There was no room service available as far as I knew.
Location and Accessibility
The hotel’s location was fantastic, situated right next to the Li River and only a short 5-minute walk to the main shops and streets in the town. It was very easy to find and access, making it a convenient base for exploring Yangshuo.
Customer Service
The overall customer service was great. The staff were very friendly and polite, and we encountered no issues during our stay.
Overall Experience
The best part of our stay was the hotel’s prime location, which made it easy to visit tourist attractions. The hotel staff were also very helpful in arranging scooter rentals for a very reasonable price of ¥30 per day, which allowed us to explore the beautiful scenery around Yangshuo.
However, there is room for improvement. The breakfast selection, particularly the international options, needs significant enhancement. Additionally, a thorough deep cleaning of the carpets would greatly improve the room’s cleanliness.
In conclusion, while I would recommend the Shixi Landscape Hotel for its location and overall good service, it is on the pricier side for Yangshuo. Given the cost, I expected a bit more in terms of breakfast quality and room cleanliness. Nonetheless, it is a decent option for those looking to stay near the Li River and the town’s main attractions.

GGuest UserElephant Trunk Hill Hotel was an exceptional and amazing place to stay during our quick holiday in Guilin. The location is perfect, just in the city center and next to all the biggest tourist attractions. We got great service from Sophia. Many of the staff did not speak English, but WeChat translate option worked really well. The hotel had nice views and a complimentary afternoon tea with snacks. I loved the ”rain shower” in our room. One of the best hotel rooms I have stayed in.

EExpatThis is an absolutely beautiful hotel. As a solo traveler, I do feel that it’s good for one night to experience that design and pampering space. There are bus tour groups which go there and seem to work well with the KTV, Buffet meals, and lounging areas.
From my trip, I stayed for two days after the Chinese Qixing Festival. It was really nice to arrive and have access to the teatime snacks and desserts as well as the wonderful architecture and furniture design. The outdoor pool is nice, however the indoor pool charges 50 yuan because they offer drinks and snacks. The only drinks and snacks they offered were juice boxes and some fruit. One employee told me that there were cocktails available. The exercise room and yoga room were set up very nice. The shower rooms very clean. I would not pay for the indoor swimming pool in my opinion based on the drink/snacks.
The bar that is advertised from some user photos does not exist. Some employees said it was open, others said not. Management can communicate that better, as a lush hotel should have a solid lounge. The tea lounge does not have any alcohol drinks available, but rather decoration of wine bottles. The design is gorgeous though. One employee told me that they ran out of alcohol due to holiday, and another employee told me that there was a bar open which really was not. I simply went to get my own spirits when I wanted a cocktail (made in my room).
Other than that, everything in the hotel was fine. My room was really lovely with the exception of the fact that you cannot go out on the balconies and there is a smoke smell from the carpet. The hotel gladly gave me a an air purifier to help alleviate the smell. My opinion is that the power should be sat on before a guest checks into their room. I had to change the filter over the two days. It did not appear that the KTV was open (maybe epidemic), I decided to go hang out in town, but enjoyed the Victorian flair when relaxing.
Overall, the comfort, bathing, and relaxation was great. The breakfast is really delicious, and the service of the employees all around was impeccable despite the fact that they could not offer all of the amenities. It seems an OK place for families/photos as well since the property is unique. The 50 yuan for tea time was probably the most valuable, and the room service staff are detailed. The butler/reception very professional, Ayi staff amazing. Transportation quite easy.

Excellent bedding and very nice bathroom, spacious living room with excellent tea available. The restaurant serves simple and tasty Chinese cuisine with local products. We particularly liked the snails in sauce. The owner and the ladies on duty are very dedicated to the customer. We suggest providing bathrobes in the room when exiting the bathroom which is facing the windows. A more complete breakfast menu would also be perfect. Thank you for your welcome, we hope to return in another season to discover the rice fields with other colors.
