We got married here just the 2 of us on the 26/7. From booking and right up to the wedding itself, everything was stress free and well organised. The bridal suite was clean and spacious, food was delicious and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We had the best day and definitely recommend The Mill to other couples for their special day.

Got married here in July had a lovely ceremony wedding cake handed in staff didn't put in fridge or cool room was asked if we wanted it in the answer was yes cake ruined guests seen it lying out from before 11 in the morning we weren't getting married intill 4 dinner wasn't till 5.30 cake ruined icing rolled off with heat staff tried to fix it made it worse scrapped all icing off absloutley devastated as it was a gift manager said it it wasnt made clear where we wanted it yes it was offered a overnight stay in a years time which we declined as it left a very bad taste in our mouths so basically all they said was sorry food not so great steak was awful was sent back

Had our wedding here on the 19.07.2025 ceremony was great room was great food not very good steak sent back handed our wedding cake in asked if we would like it in fridge or cool room yes next day cake ruined very muggy day cake was left lying out icing rolled off in heat venue tried to fix it and made it worse by scrapping all icing off photos to prove it to be told there was a break down In communication no there wasn't they left our cake lying out other guests seen it and all said that is terrible wife in tears no cutting off cake cake in bin manager offered a overnight stay next year no thanks doesn't even match what was paid for cake barr very over priced aswell ,£7 for a j20 for a kid ridiculous tried blaming us

We were married here 16 years ago and have been going back as much as we can . We have spent this weekend here and had a fabulous time the staff are amazing very helpful and knowledgeable of the area . The food was absolutely delicious, quick service and very reasonably priced, our room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Thank you for a lovely stay x

Visited the Mill Forge yesterday. We were married here 20 years ago in June 2005 so thought it would be nice to travel back and visit again. It actually looked virtually identical to back then and it was amazing to reminisce. We popped into Reception to check it was ok to look round and were met by Sam. What a lovely girl who couldn’t have been nicer, even letting us look in the Chapel where we married before a wedding was going to begin. We took some photos at the same areas our photographer had taken them 20 years ago and Sam has asked us to send them in to her with the old ones. We stopped in the bar/restaurant for some drinks and even though we were in the Dumfries area for 2 days both said it was the best part of our trip. If you’re thinking of using the Mill Forge to have your wedding you will definitely have chosen well. Thanks Sam and all at the Mill Forge.

We visited for a wedding, and the location is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast was good quality and the staff throughout were amazing - so friendly and happy to help. I would recommend this hotel as a beautiful place to get married!

We had the bridal suit due to getting married here. The guest rooms were spacious, very clean and the staff couldnt do enough to help and make sure our stay and special day went smoothly, would recommend here to anyone and everyone. The food was also really good. The bridal suite.... WOW!!
