Honestly this place is a JOKE, do not recommend this place in the slightest. The owner James is dodgy as get owt and stuck up his own ****, whoever gave this man a degree to run a wedding venue seriously needs there head checked!!! Also cannot pay his staff correctly because he couldn’t care in the slightest place needs shut down

Beautiful stately home. We were greeted and looked after by Robert, who was great. Dinner and breakfast were superb. Grounds, house and location are fabulous. Shame we only stayed one night! Will definitely be back for another visit.

Stayed here for one night, wish it had been more what a beautiful place a true hidden gem! We got a fantastic price of £118 for a double room with breakfast, the first room we got was lovely, quite small but had a fantastic double shower and amazing view but after a long drive and sore back I upgraded to a room with a bath which only cost £20 more. The room was lovely, huge bed and bathroom and even bigger bath!! The place is amazing lovely period features that you would expect in a place with such history. We wandered about just taking it all in, fantastic huge grounds, you can see why so many people have their weddings here. The staff couldn't do enough for you, very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast in the morning in the lovely dining room overlooking the lawn was fantastic, great quality ingredients cooked perfectly and piping hot! we would definitely return and for longer next time, if you are thinking of it you wont regret it.

Well we’re do I start we stayed from the 27th to the 29th of may first my daughters wedding and I can honestly say this place was amazing the staff went above and beyond there duties to make sure everything was just perfect for this special occasion the bbq food as got to be the best we have ever tasted anywhere the main meal on the evening of the wedding was absolutely amazing and the breakfast was brilliant as well the rooms were very comfortable and very clean with everything you needed in them this place is definitely worth booking for a wedding

We held our wedding here on the first May bank holiday, having viewed the venue for the first time in December 2023. What an absolutely find! The house is beautiful for a wedding, with a great space that flows really well between rooms. It’s naturally beautiful, so doesn’t need a lot of set up to get everything looking top tier. Our wedding here was perfect and all the guests commented on how stunning the house is and how amazing the staff were. James and Fiona are a cracking team to work with when planning a wedding. They made the whole process work so seamlessly so we had a stress free planning process. No question was too much and they helped plan the little touches to perfection. The beauty of Springkell is that they don’t try to cram in back to back weddings, so we could relax the whole weekend with our nearest and dearest. I understand that James also sorted a tie out for one of the guests who forgot his. This exemplary help translates to all the staff that were working that weekend. Everyone was so lovely, polite and helpful. It’s true teamwork and looks like a great working culture. The food and the ambience was just amazing. I can’t recommend Springkell highly enough. It’s a special place that looks and is grand, but has a family/personal feel that makes you instantly relax. The food was beautiful and they catered for all dietary requirements without a fuss. It’s a true hidden gem, and my husband and I are already discussing going back there for our anniversary weekend. The fireworks that they arranged were also spectacular. Perfect day at a perfect venue.

Room 16 is lovely and roomy. Make sure you go and see the pigmy goats. We were returning guests and had taken them up on the offer of a special voucher for a 2 night stay when the hotel is quiet. Less than £300 for two nights with dinner, breakfast and a bottle of wine! The room was a good size with a lovely view of the huge garden and the food was excellent! Unbelievable value as we expected a very limited set menu but it was the same menu as they give to everyone. I had steak one night and salmon the next. Both 10/10. All the staff were brilliant very helpful and friendly. Probably not what I would choose as a business traveller (no work desk) but why would you want to work here.
