This was our 4th stay at The Swan. We always have a great experience. All the staff are amazing and are so very friendly and helpful with us. We stay in a superior room which has everything we need. The beds are really comfy. We always eat in the inn and really enjoy the choice on the menu. Nelly and Nigel, Julie, Tony, Luke and Phoebe, Emily, Harry, Brennan, Chanel, Stasia, Tania, Tia and Aston and Heather (sorry if I have missed anyone out) make our trips really memorable. Looking forward to our next stay.

It's my first stay at this hotel it won't be my last its so different there's lots of little spaces in the bar area that make it so nice.we stayed for two nights.the meals and staff are first class,our bedroom was spot on .The garden is excellent

The hotel was located away from the village; approximately, a quarter of a mile. Not bad unless it is raining. My room was very clean. No AC but I just opened the window to cool down the room. No elevators. If you are physically handicapped, this place is not for you. The breakfast was good. Very charming place. Has historical ties to William Wordsworth.

We have stayed in several Inn Collection hotels. This one is in a great location, but be aware, the hotel is like a labyrinth and is not very accessible. Avoid rooms 10, 11, 38, 39 & 40 the locations are awful. After complaining about our room, (something I've never had to do before) we were told by the Manager that photos on the website are for illustration purposes only, however we were moved to a much more satisfactory room. I got the feeling this is not the first time they have had this complaint.

The location is ideal for Grasmere and other villages. Parking is limited and we were told by a member of staff that if we found a parking space not to move the car - not ideal. Our room opened onto the car park and was not part of the main hotel. We weren't given another option. Whilst it was clean and adequate in size we could hear people's cars pulling up in the car park and luggage being moved etc. We were also disturbed by work being done right outside our window at 830 in the morning. Food was dreadful. On our first day we told there were no fryers so unless we wanted a sandwich or something with mash we were advised to look elsewhere but this was fine as even the full menu looked very bland and there are lovely pubs and restaurants in the area. Breakfast is basic to say the least. Small portions of hot food and there were no hash browns on our first day. The black pudding was wafer thin and overcooked. My husband has brown sauce and what came out of the 3 bottles we tried was stringy for some reason so maybe out of date or sat under a heat lamp for too long? Everything else is very basic continental and some small details that could be improved such as putting spoons on the table.

Had a lovely stay at short notice in Grasmere. Was great to be able to get a one night booking. Quite expensive but we had a friendly welcome, comfortable room and a good service. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was very good. Bathroom quite small. We’re lucky to get the last parking space. Would stay again
