We were very disappointed with our stay. We were staying in a 'classic' room however it looked nothing like the pictures online - it had sloping ceilings like an attic, meaning you couldn't stand up without bumping your head, and it was very tired and dusty. The bathroom had also seen better days. There is also a £10/night charge for the carpark. Very overpriced for what it is.

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff. There was a mixture of service level between teams and you can tell that some of them are less experienced, however all are polite. House keeping is efficient and rapid. The hotel restaurant and food is of good quality. Breakfast differed day to day with some hits and some misses. I would say they need to focus on consistency. My only real negative is the rooms we had were quite smelly and musty, akin to a water leak or cleaned and not allowed to dry properly. I have flagged this to reception.

We visited the restaurant and enjoyed a very nice meal. The food was delicious and we were very well taken care of by the staff.

We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't fault the hotel or its staff, the room was very spacious, lovely toiletries, a comfortable bed and a gorgeous garden to sit in and admire the view. The food was excellent complimented by a first class wine list. A special well done to the staff who were friendly and professional at all times.

Very comfortable hotel with excellent restaurant and friendly, helpful staff. Good parking and great location 5 mins walk to centre of Grasmere. Would have preferred a proper swimming pool instead of sauna and hot plunge pool facility, but that’s a matter of personal taste. Restaurant nicely arranged to give outlook to gardens from every table. Neat!

Arrived for a two night stay with family, 9 of us in total. What can i say but 'wow' We were all given upgraded rooms, my room was overlooking the river with a balcony. The room was clean, tidy, very comfy beds and a fantastic shower, lovely toiletries and complementary gin! Big shout out to the staff especially Dominic ( fellow scouser) who made us feel so welcome, were very attentive and helpful. Shout out to the chef also as trying to get 9 breakfasts out hot and on time is a feat in its self! we were also given a table to ourselves too which was very thoughtful. Good selection of hot and cold at breakfast with good portions sizes. You all made our family celebration one to remember so thank you so much, i'm sure we will be back!
