Lovely hotel to stop off at with lots character and a wonderful team Loved the picture in the restaurant of famous people from Grantham Rooms are individual and very comfortable. It’s a very grand historical hotel so worth visiting & the courtyard is a fab place to hang out even for coffee Plenty of parking in secure areas too Great cocktail bar with proper cocktails, with live music when we were there, and a super efficient bar man After we had a fabulous meal - very nicely presented and tasty So all round recommend

I have to write a second review about this hotel as have just had the breakfast for the first time. Amazing large cooked traditional English breakfast with eggs, sausages, mushrooms, bacon, beans, hash browns and toast, fruit juice and tea/coffee. There is a selection of other breakfasts on the menu too. I have travelled all over the world and never tasted a breakfast as good as this!

Excellent 2 cocktails and tapas £20 Staff were really good I think managers name is Ambi was helpful and positive. I will post pictures of our amazing food tasty and plentiful. We had calamari. Korean cauliflower. Honey roasted chorizo. Dirty fries Four cocktails too. Really good. We booked again.

Absolutely love this beautiful historic hotel. Rooms are large snd luxurious and the accessible rooms and bathrooms have lots of space to move around. Exceptional service from staff and the afternoon tea is not to be missed. Very interesting painting over the fireplace with famous Grantham residents. Fun trying to work out who they all are. Would highly recommend, been back 3 times since July snd will definitely be back again.

Our party of 4 people visited the Bistro Restaurant at the Angel & Royal recently and we were all looking forward to having a nice evening meal. Unfortunately, we were mistaken. The quality of the food we were served was very poor indeed. We were all very surprised as we had heard good reviews about the Bistro. This was not what we were expecting! I wanted to complain but we were all reluctant to do so at the time as none of us are comfortable complaining. So, we left feeling disappointed and agreed never to eat there again. However, I was annoyed at how they can get away with serving poor food and justify the higher prices. We would have got better food in a local restaurant or pub for a lot less money! So, I decided that we shouldn’t leave it there and I submitted a complaint to the Angel & Royal management via email. I shouldn’t have wasted my time as my complaint has been completely ignored! I have received no response whatsoever! Thanks!😠 So, if you do go there for a meal and experience the same poor food then don’t make the mistake we made of not complaining at the time!

The staff were welcoming, attentive and friendly throughout. The ambience is classy and comfortable and the food perfect for our purposes - a light lunch with a group of friends. We visit a lot of pubs and restaurants as a weekly walking group and without doubt this is one of our favourites. Great to have in our locality

Fabulous as usual, good selection of food to choose from all cooked to perfection. Great staff, superb atmosphere. Value for money. It was busy but everything was served timely so no excess waiting between courses. The Colston Bassett mouse starter was devine!

''It was fab - as always!'' Another family celebration at "The Angel" - it never lets us down. Family celebrations span over the last 40-50 years and it is lovely to see how the new owners have pride in an important Grantham landmark - we will return soon!

1st time having Sunday lunch with you and it was absolutely fantastic. We both chose the lamb which was tasty, cooked well and generous, and the vegetables were all cooked perfectly. Desserts and coffee were an extra treat. We will definitely come again.
