Hotels near Megafun, Gothenburg

The hotel is awesome, the rooms are large and very historical, it should belong to a good hotel in Gothenburg. The corridor is lined with parquet mosaics, which are particularly beautiful. Crossing a bridge leads to the town hall and a large shopping mall. Breakfast was average.

It was a quite wonderful experience to stay at First G hotel in terms of the following, I can actually say I have never gotten this kind of experience outside of Japan in my life. Their services with smiling faces, breakfast especially scrambled egg and a lot of line up of breads, convenient location to take almost all trams which will take you anywhere in Goteborg, finally entire performance per cost. We stayed in Pigalle Hotel Gothenburg for 2 nights The location of the hotel is very central and super close to the central station of Gothenburg ( about3 minutes walk), it is also close to tons of restaurants, cafes and a big shopping mall where you will find everything The reception when we first entered the Hotel did not meet our expectations, it was not that warm welcome and for a moment felt almost like self service, I thought it was bizarre for a 5 stars hotel to have average reception for their guests. Decoration of the hallway, the bar at ground floor, the entrance and even the stairs was surprisingly very vintage, romantic and outstanding design, overall it was charming and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Even the room design, the wall paper and the bathroom were all of the same theme (vintage & romantic and it quite warm feeling) The bed was super comfy, we slept very well like bears so if you wanna have a great sleep they got the beds and pillows for it. Also the breakfast every morning was nothing short of delicious and the taste of everything was great and you can feel that they only use fresh & high quality ingredients, the methods of the cooking and preparations were very 5 stars indeed, and the service of the staff as well, they were very friendly and professional. Nevertheless the room we stayed at did not match the pictures on the hotel web page, it was not very spacious neither was the bathroom, and next to the bed both nightstands had stains on them, we were also not pleased with the cleanliness of the room nor the bathroom as there were so much chalky limescale deposits all over the bathroom floor. The closet in our room was sort of broken and need reparation as it was quite warn out, also it had very small space to hang our clothes and even less space for stuff because it had only 2 small shelves. No free coffee, nor tea and not even water in the room, quite disappointing for a 5 stars hotel, I honestly was upset as there were no trash cans in the room, there were just one in the bathroom and you need to walk there every time you had trash to throw. Also although we were couple, we only got 1 welcome package and even that was very basic. In Summary: The Hotel have a charming, vintage aesthetic and an unbeatable central location. However, the room quality fell short of expectations for a 5-star establishment, with cleanliness issues and a lack of amenities. The delicious breakfast and exceptional service of the staff helped redeem the experience.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Avalon hotel. It's in a very convenient location close to the city center (and close to bus/tram stops). Check in/out was seamless and the staff very friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet had many options. We also had lunch at the restaurant upon arrival and the food was very good! The only downside to Avalon is that while it's in a central location, that also means the area around the hotel is busy/crowded. We stayed over a weekend and it was pretty loud outside our room on the street which kept us up at night / recycling service woke us very early in the morning.

The hotel is located next to the railway station and looks very beautiful. Especially at Christmas time, the hotel service is very considerate, and it will help bring parking to pick up the car. Breakfast is OK. The restaurant on the second floor is no problem except for being expensive. :-) The swimming pool on the roof is particularly great. Although it is a bit smaller, it is not here for exercise after all, but the atmosphere is very good!

Because I couldn't book a hotel, I squeezed in with my colleagues temporarily. The room facilities are relatively old, but the hygiene is passable, and the breakfast is also good. It's very close to the central station and the focus is on value for money.

I’m torn between 3 and 4 stars. I liked the size of the room, the fact that the kids could have their own beds (we had a lofted family room), and the professionalism and courtesy of the staff. It was very nice that we could walk to Liseberg and the Universium from the hotel, since those were our two main destinations in Gothenburg. Breakfast was good. Not the best breakfast buffet I had in Sweden, but still good. There was quite a large selection so everyone found something to enjoy. The breakfast area did get rather crowded and noisy in the later part of the morning, but that’s probably to be expected in a hotel of this size. They seemed very sensitive to food allergies and restrictions, though I don’t have first hand experiences to report there. The maids did a great job cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, and the linens were clean. The room really needed a deep cleaning, though. The wooden floor had engrained dirt and was sticky, the loft staircase handrail felt sticky, and the do not disturb sign was soiled. (It looked like someone sneezed on it.) This hotel was the only one in Sweden where I felt I had to keep my shoes on in my room so my feet didn’t get soiled. That really affected how I felt about my stay. Room cleanliness is very important to me. Also, only one window opened and only a few inches. The other was locked shut. The weather was quite warm while we were there and it would have been nice to open both windows. I didn’t enjoy that any kind of room cleaning or linen replacement had to be requested by 10 pm the night before. I am finding that this is a more and more common trend in hotels but on the other hand it wasn’t the case for the hotels where I stayed in Stockholm and Orsa. I’m not sure that I’d stay here again. Of the three hotels I experienced in Sweden, this is the only one I’d hesitate to return to.

I was looking for somewhere affordable just a short walk from Chalmers University and ended up staying in this friendly clean updated traditional hotel. Just minutes away from the main streets, a half hour walk to the sea or Botanic Gardens and with a generous breakfast each morning I could not have asked for more. The staff were welcoming when I arrived early for check in after 20+ hour journey and found me a room. There’s a wonderful old school lift up the centre of the original staircase: be prepared to go alone with your suitcase or squeeze in with one friend because that’s all there is room for!

We stayed at Jacy’z from the 22/6-26/6. We arrived to the hotel and went to the 17th floor where we were staying at JQ, and was lucky to get our room 2 hours earlier. But.. the room wasn’t quite “ready” when we got it. There was missing a robe, and there was dust visible on the floor.. We payed extra to upgrade our room to a medium room at JQ, because we thought it would be more luxurious.. The room was nice, but we only got our bed done 1 time at our whole stay??? The one time fixing our bed, they didn’t even take our trash out or clean the rest of the hotel room nor our bathroom..? We also got a drink at their JQ lounge. The surroundings were very cozy and nice, but the 3 employees/bartenders were hanging in the seats at the bar, and making fun with each other/laughing and whispering as if they were talking about us guests… very unprofessional. On Sunday the 23/6 we booked an afternoon spa session at Pachanga Pool Club (from 16-19), and it was NOT worth the money. Again, the surroundings were nice, but there was toooo many people. Because of the many people, there wasn’t a seat for everyone and the pools were crowded. We were very sad that we spend our anniversary there… We also tried their restaurant Gogogaga at the 26th floor, where we got the Korean Bbq style dinner, and it was very good. We also got breakfast every morning at Archie’s which had many options. To sum up, the surroundings at Jacyz and the food was very good, but everything else didn’t meet with our expectations. We’re sad we spend our money on this hotel, when we could get the same experience at a cheaper.

If you travel with car, this hotel has excellent location. Very nice sub urban area. To Lisebergs amusement park and very big shopping mall 10 minutes away. Breakfast was excellent and coffee - definitely best during visit in Sweden. Most important while traveling, we all had GOOD sleep in comortable beds. In rooms hotel is having a good selection when travelling with family. Eventhough they don't have restaurant, they had tasty variation for evening meal. Worth the money!
