Amber Springs Hotel

We loved this hotel. It is a perfect choice for a family weekend. From the second you walk in you can tell its a free for all for the kids. You get all the info on all the activities available so the kids can get straight into excitement and planning. We booked an amber suites den room, with a bunk room area separated by a black out curtain. The room was massive. Massive. I stayed in a 'family' room in a hotel in Galway during the summer and it was about 1/3rd the size of this for the same price. 2 sets of bunk beds, decent sturdy bunks, not squeaky, and comfy mattresses too. Huge bathroom. Huge main bedroom area with a couch. The kids made such use out of the room playing tag etc. Had dinner in main restaurant which was decent food and served promptly, they know what they're doing with a kid filled restaurant. Loads of exploring to be done, games room, cinema, soft play, outdoor area with go carts, mini golf, playground, animals. So much for them to do. And then the pool too. The one criticism I would say is the outdoor area could do with being updated, mini golf course was pretty wrecked, only 2 of the 5 go carts were in working order. They are cheap to do, like €3 a go, but I would pay more if they were better condition - or more of them working. Pool was great, was quiet too, it being January probably. Staff were all great, we got take away pizzas from Farina and take away food from the main restaurant to have in the room one of the nights and they were totally accommodating. It just felt so great for the kids. Up the main stairs is a huge seating area which was empty most of the time and perfect for kids to run around while you have a drink. Or while you join in.....I would imagine it takes a lot before staff would reprimand the kids for running around. Just a free for all for the kids. Oh - most importantly! The SPA is fabulous. Total unexpected treat for me. Got a 45 minute massage for €60 (bargain) and didn't expect the gorgeous relaxation room, I was expecting a basic thing but it was such a gorgeous oasis from the madness of the hotel and I loved it. If you can squeeze that in I would definitely recommend.

Another great trip to the Amber Springs. Great hotel and so well equipped for children. Most staff were friendly and accomodating. The man doing the bird show was so brilliant with the kids, they loved it. Only negative is the kids club, been a few times now and each time it's very poor. Young students minding the kids and barely interacting with them. On the pizza party night, I checked in on the kids and the staff were huddled in one corner eating and chatting and essentially ignoring the kids who were sitting down looking a bit lost.

I've worked in hotels for almost 20years and have never come across a better family orientated hotel as this. The property itself is in excellent condition which can't be easy, rooms are large and immaculate as are all public areas. Staff are absolutely outstanding with special mentions to Michael the breakfast manager and Ciara the fantastic bar person. From start to finish we couldn't have been looked after better. Already planning our return.

Amazing stay everything was perfect and staff were so helpful

First time going with 4 kids, and they had an amazing time. The Christmas village was fab. Santa himself didn’t talk for long with the kids but the whole experience is great and our elf was fab. All ages well catered for with other activities in the hotel. Game room is a bit dated in terms of the consoles but cheap so older ones still went. Cinema was great and soft play for the younger kids. Did archery karts and petting farm too. Staff all very nice to the kids. Our room was amazing- biggest we’ve ever had in a hotel so for once we all had enough space. . Food was excellent- catered for vegan and veggi really well ( tacos in particular in the restaurant and they even did beyond sausages for breakfast on request). Kids already asking to go back

We’ve stayed at the amber springs multiple times now. No other hotel comes close when it comes to family trips. We visited for the Santa train and an overnight stay, our elf, “snowy the elf” was amazing and kids loved her. Mrs Claus was absolutely amazing. And Santa was great too. Kevin, the hotel manager really went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and was so friendly. There was a problem with one of the lights in the room and he solved it for us so quickly and even brought the kids some goodies too. Customer service is amazing Can’t wait to return again in 2025
