Hotel Casa Roland Golfito Resort

We had a lovely stay in Casa Roland Golfto. It was central for us to visit local national parks. The pools are great and you can look out and watch the scarlet macaws, toucans and other wildlife. The staff were very good apart from a mix up with a food order then the kitchen and bar staff went cold on us for the duration of our stay. ( even though we paid the total bill ) Rooms clean, good car park area. Breakfast was very local and not really to our taste.

The perfect way to wrap our time in Costa Rica! We arrived well before check in time, but the very sweet front desk señorita was super accommodating. She gave us a room right away. She told us about the pool, restaurant, etc. She was just perfect. We went down to our room. Yes, down. Other reviews complained about being in the “basement.” I had no issues with this. In fact, I feel like there was a lot of character to the hotel- Lots of original pieces of art, old school bar set ups that a guy like Hemingway would have drank at, comfortable common areas, etc. The room was spacious, cool & very clean. There was a fridge that we plugged in. Took very little time to cool down. We rested for a short period of time before going up to the pool. The pool was great!! Had plenty of room & varying depths to accommodate different age groups. We ordered food & beers which were very reasonably priced. My favorite- a bucket of 6 beers for $10. Yes, please. 😎 All in for beer, 2 bottled waters, beef nachos, fries & chicken fingers it was $46. I’ll take that all day. We eventually went back down to the room, changed and came back up for dinner. It was raining so having a covered walkway from the hotel side to the restaurant side was a really nice perk. We celebrated our last night of vacation with pina coladas before dinner. We ordered 2 entrees- spicy chicken pasta in a white sauce & the surf & turf (beef & 2 shrimp). Both were tasty. $59 plus cash tip. I was very satisfied with both meals & would have no problem eating here again! I know expectations vary from person to person, but I would 100% stay here again based on our experience. I would also have no problem recommending Hotel Casa Roland to anyone traveling through Golfito.
