We stayed in Cawdor Lodge No 5 for 5 nights in July. Family of 4, two grown up daughters - 2 x singles and 1 double. Both were en suite. The lodge itself was excellent, appointed to a very high standard and very spacious. Enormous double bed (I think it was 2 x singles) but nevertheless. Very private as well. Minimal noise from the adjoining property. We made frequent use of the hot tub, which is under cover, so great to sit and read a book in there with a glass (plastic) of wine whilst watching the rain! The check in, gate code etc is all processed via email, so there was no need to even speak with our hosts, although we did pop over the say hello. We did spend a lot of time of time at The Oak Tree Inn. Its a 5 min walk from the Lodges, with lots of outdoor seating. You would be wise to book in advance for any evening meals. Its more of a restaurant than a pub. Next door there is a small village store, an also St Mocha Coffee Shop which serves small bites as well. Would recommend the daily ferry to Luss. Very picturesque. We did go up Conic Hill which has amazing views. It's quite steep in places. Spent the afternoon in the hot tub recovering. Sea Life Aquarium in Balloch, would be good for younger children. Meal in Drymen Arms was good. Overall we had a great stay, despite a few rainy days.
