Royal West End Hotel

Easy check out and check in. The hotel was very clean and close to shops for food and University of Glasgow. Breakfast was standard and the kitchen made me the type of eggs I wanted. The room was clean though the shower cubicle was too small. The room temperature was comfortable for us. The hotel staff Lulu was very helpful, he allowed us to keep our luggages past check out time. All in all a good experience

The location of hotel is amazing, 1 min to byres road, where there are supermarkets, eateries and such.

Disgustingly dirty, smokey and unsafe hotel. The carpets were dirty, walls were stained and the ceilings had holes, furniture was sticky, windows didn't open, a dusty desk fan only operated at speed #2 as speed #3 was broken despite the heatwave. The mattresses sagged and the pillows were thinner than an A4 piece of paper. Our door wouldn't close properly during our stay and it was not dealt with. A man walked into our bedroom without warning. Hotel staff made no effort to fix the problem. The hotel breakfast was disgusting. The bacon, potato scones and blood pudding looked and tasted of fried derelicts scraped from Iceland's refuse bin and were completely indelible. The staff, when they were not fagging at the front desk and poisoning guests with their smoke plumes, wore tracksuits, slides and panty hose. Even Vicky Pollard would have been embarrassed. Avoid this hotel at all costs. The convenient location is incredibly noisy and the ingrained cigarette smoke in the soft furnishings and carpet and at the front door will make you sick.
