Crookston Hotel

We recently had a fantastic family meal at the Crookston Hotel, staff couldn’t do enough for us & food was excellent. The restaurant area was great for a large family dinner party! Thanks so much 💕 We have booked to go back soon for another family celebration 🍾 x

went for our badminton Christmas meal. I wasn't totally happy with the menu - for vegetarians the starter and main were very similar and didn't show much creativity. the starter was nice, but the main..... omg it said it was "tomato and roasted pepper pasta served with goats cheese and fresh peashoots" when it arrived it had neither goats cheese or peashoots, and had a lot of chilli, so i explained this to the staff, another plate came out with a few crumbles of goats cheese and a few pea shoots ( about 3!!) it also had so much chilli in it that i actually couldn't eat it, was absolutely awful and disappointing, i said this to the staff and no response. I tried to call them and left a message ...but no response, i think they got my money and dont care.

The room was nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable. Dog friendly, which was great and free breakfast a bonus. When we arrived it was incredibly busy and the check-in process was not particularly welcoming but we put it down to the staff being under a lot of pressure. Unfortunately our downstairs room (24) was adjacent to the function room. It was incredibly noisy when we arrived until well after midnight on the night of our arrival which made sleeping (and even just trying to watch the TV) impossible. The sound of people outside the door of the room was continuous with people constantly loitering in the hallway, chatting, arguing, laughing, coming and going. It was akin to trying to get to sleep in the middle of Sauchiehall Street on a Friday night! The following day the room was freezing cold and there was no hot water. There was also another function on across the corridor, so the place was going like a fair, again all the noise could be heard directly outside our door. We tolerated the noise but spoke to the staff about the other things who said the heating was broken and they were trying to fix it. Fair enough, these things happen but it didn't make for a great start to our evening out. Thankfully the function had ended when we got back later that night so it was nice and quiet and we slept fine. However, the following morning there was still no hot water but we were in a rush so just had to check out having not really had a chance to wash properly in two days. The hotel has plenty going for it as it is reasonably priced, but if you want a good night's sleep, a comfortable stay and a basic level of service it's not going to be the place for you. On check-out there was no apology for the lack of heating or water and nobody bothered to ask us how our stay was, so I can only presume they weren't interested.

Great Staff lovely, room lovely and food lovely

Apart from Frances,the bar manager's wel come today,I am just about tolerating this room. I have been running the 'hot'tap for a full 5 mins now to no avail .I'm not inclined to even try the shower.I can hear the hand dryer in the toilets downstairs .The house keeping many was very helpful in brining a bedside light which did work.He was cheerful as he supplied my additional duvet .I was glad to have the diversion of the documentary on Alex Salmond to divert me from my traffic-noise ridden environment. I hope future guests benefit from the renovations been carried out here Sadly ,I was too early! The water is still cold .

Stayed for three days at the Crookston hotel could not fault the staff they were so friendly and efficient, we stayed in the double room on ground floor which was good only thing they could be improved with room would have been nice to have two smaller chairs one each bit one large one with one of us having to sit on bed , breakfast was a delight too shame though that when asked for black pudding then had none otherwise all was fine, would stay there again when up home for a visit
