When I confirmed the reservation over the phone, Mr. Kisoya said, ”If you let me know your arrival time, they will pick you up,” so I asked around noon. It was early for check-in, but they let me through the room. (If you arrive early, some hotels will only store your luggage, so I was very grateful.) I thought there was a customer, so I agreed. As expected, a group came in the evening, and the men's bath seemed to be quite crowded. In the women's bath, there weren't many empty shelves in the dressing room at night. The rose bath was out of season and there were few flowers, but it had beautiful flowers and a good scent. The tatami mats that touched the soles of my feet when I got out of the bathtub were also comfortable. Most of the staff were friendly. When I mentioned the name of the restaurant I was planning to visit, Mr. Nakai said with a smile, ”It's a popular restaurant.” Before dinner, when I was looking at miso in a small bottle at the shop, a smiling female staff member passed by and said, ”I'll be there for breakfast.” ”There's a fireworks display,” ”If you're going, it's cold, so please dress warmly.” The feeding staff (although he was quite talkative) was kind enough to ask me, ”Is it okay to eat?” Breakfast is pictured. No breakfast, we set the double room, did not ask for an extra bed, so it is not clear whether it can be added. Feel the location of the hotel is OK, but the price seems to be not very high. There are many similar family hotels in the town. Many of the shopkeepers don’t understand the Internet, so they don’t hang on the Internet. They can’t go out in the town during the peak period. Go out of Gero station, turn left and walk for three minutes, and then you can check in at three o'clock in the afternoon. Basically, you can just take the bath outside. The shower that comes back to sleep is less than the sink on the third floor. It seems that there is no hot water. The wooden building. This appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didn’t speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate. Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station. We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry. We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests, we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality. The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby.

I think it will become more popular if we update the room photos. I was just satisfied with everything! I think they gave me an empty double room instead of a single room, but thank you so much!

It was a stay using the prefectural people. Because I had declared on the phone in advance, the check-in procedure and the application of the prefectural people were very smooth. The guide in the building was a foreign national staff, and there was a wall of words, but it was easy to understand all the necessary matters. In addition, the information you received at check-in was also described in the information you were able to go to each large bath and were able to use all three large baths without hesitation. I was very worried about which dinner to make, but Ogawaya was the first time to use it, so I made it a standard meeting seat, but it was correct. You can eat at the private room banquet hall, and the amount and taste are satisfactory. The dinner attendant was also a foreign national, but it was very polite and very good as the guide. The breakfast buffet was also used after 7:00, so it was not particularly crowded, and the seat was also very relaxing. It was a type with an open-air bath on the balcony, so the stay in the room is also very relaxing and recommended. It was a stay without any inconvenience at all. I like the accompanying people very much and I would like to visit again when I go to Gero.

1. I am a frequent traveller to japan. I have been to more than 100 onsen hotels in japan and I am sure that this hotel is the worst onsen in the world! The room is tiny, ugly, not furnished, with a view facing building wall, but the price was over 50,000yen per night. Gosh, It’s exactly like a shared room in a public housing estate!!!!! I understood the price is higher in new year, we do not mind about the price. But the quality of the hotel and customer service are extremely terrible. This is a nightmare in new year! 2. This hotel is definitely cheating. We booked a room on japan website, and the images showed a bigger room with open mountain view. If it was stated in the condition that the room is such poor, I will not book this room with 50,000yen. 3. The attitude of the hotel manger was very bad and terrible. He didn’t respect customers at all. He totally discriminated foreigner, especially customers from hk. He completely ignored us when we said we are disappointed with the room and his service, and asked for changing another room or cancellation. He also totally didn’t know English and needs to be helped from his staff. How can someone like that be the manger/ operator of the hotel? I am very very very very very upset and angry staying in this rubbish hotel! Not becos of the money, but the quality of service! It’s totally rubbish! To all foreign visitors, you should not come this this hotel as they are cheating!

How much Gero Onsen went ... It's slimy and comfortable, but it's impossible to be surprised that bath towels are paid from the second one with one １ sheets. If you are looking forward to the hot springs and use them many times, it takes time to dry the bath towels, and you are looking forward to the hot springs all over the country, and you are going to various hot spring inns, but you don't have to bring bath towels from your room. I used it I was able to use bath towels every time I could. I think there are limits, but if you are told to use up to the second one alternately, you will be happy to get it, but is it charged from the second one? Is it difficult to maintain that much even in a long-established inn? The paid bath towel is disappointing and it cannot be a hot spring facility in Gero Onsen, and there is no next one. Even if you don't expect cooking, the hot spring is Gero Onsen. If the hot spring ♨ is sold, but it becomes more popular than now if it becomes the feeling of the customer? I was sorry that I should have made a reservation in a different place if I knew it.
