Suite à une panne électrique généralisée, mon départ du 25/07 à 20:30 de Gare de Lyon PARIS a été décalé à ce matin 26/07 à 6:16 pour Gare de Cornavin GENÈVE. Dès les premières informations en ma possession, j'ai sollicité l'hôtel afin d'annuler la réservation car TGV Lyria n'avait aucune solution pour que je puisse arriver avant minuit le 25/07, fin du check in. L'hôtel n'a même pas répondu à mon email. Une indécence sans nom. Un minimum de respect et de compréhension s'impose dans ces circonstances exceptionnelles que j'ai très regrettablement eu à subir.

This is a youth hostel. The toilet is shared with other people outside the room, regardless of gender. The water pressure in each shower room is not enough. You can test the water pressure before choosing which bathroom to use. There is a special smell in the room (similar to the smell of dampness?), but it is not offensive. Instead, it has a nostalgic feeling (reminiscent of living in a university dormitory before). There is no air conditioning in the room, only a fan, but the weather in Geneva is relatively cool, so it is not a big problem. Things to note are: the room is relatively small. If two people each have a large suitcase, there may not be enough space to open them all (but if you take it down and tidy up the space a little, there will be enough space to open the suitcase) There is a shared kitchen in the basement, with all the basic kitchen utensils, but remember to clean them before use, and prepare the seasonings (oil, salt) yourself/ask other guests to borrow. You will see people from different nationalities cooking together in the kitchen. Although they usually prepare their own food/eat, it is rare to go out, so you can also try to talk to them. It is a good place to meet new friends outside. The location is relatively close to the station (about 10 minutes walk to the train station), and only if you live in the hotel in Geneva, the transportation in the city is free, and you can also take the bus to the station to save energy, but you also need to pay attention to the time because the bus is not frequent. There is a hidden elevator next to the lobby of the hotel. The reception staff did not tell us, so we thought we could only take the stairs. Fortunately, the people traveling with us were stronger and could help carry the suitcase upstairs. We found out on the day we left that there was an elevator (the older type, the elevator door looks like an ordinary door, and you have to open the door yourself)

Don't order it in the summer, forget about air conditioning, there is no ventilation system, it's so hot, the temperature inside is higher than outside

I thought it was a prison. There was no air conditioning so it was too hot to sleep. I thought it was ridiculous that men and women were in the same dormitory and bathroom.
