Comfortable bed

This place was way above our expectations. The apartment was incredible,the whole building was incredible and so modern even had a food hall built in. Will come here again and would highly recommend it.

Spent nearly a week in beautiful Gdansk at Montownia. We booked it due to its history and repurposing (an old submarine factory in the developed part of the old shipyard) and that aspect of it is amazing. Huge room with industrial fittings and decor, comfortable bed with a kitchenette full of bits and pieces if you want to self cater. But that is NOT my idea of a holiday! We asked for the room to be cleaned halfway through our stay....you get charged for it! We asked for clean towels....you get charged for it! There was only basic shower gel/ hand wash complimentary toiletries. No shampoo/conditioner/moisturiser/tissues etc that you would normally expect of a 4* or 5* establishment. And don't get me started on breakfast that was included in our stay. The first morning we went down to the Food Hall and there was a huge queue outside. We waited at least 25 minutes to even place our order which we were then told was over the allowable budget and we had to pay the excess. It wasn't too much ZLT so we just paid it, but were very surprised as we're not big eaters and had only ordered 2 x coffees, 2 x juices and 2 x omelettes. We were then continually buzzed or shouted at when our food/drinks were ready to collect ourselves and then had to clear the table when we'd finished. Again, not what I would expect to do when I'm on holiday! The following morning we were told there was now a 'set menu' system in place....we chose exactly the same thing and were not charged a ZLT extra for it. Bizarre!! I don't normally ramble on quite as much as this for a review, but had we known ALL of this we probably would've booked somewhere in the centre of Gdansk as it is at least a 15 minute walk that WAS a hotel. Montownia's 'tag-line' is MORE THAN A HOTEL! I think they need to change that....quickly!
