We booked a fish and chip tea on the Tanfield steam railway for 26th July. We decided to stay at the Beamish Park Hotel for the weekend because it is only two minutes away. On the Friday evening we had a meal at the hotel. The young man asked if we wanted a drink. My wife asked if they did Mocktails, ' certainly, I'll fetch the list' My wife ordered a mocktail. On the Saturday evening we went to the bar after our fish and chip tea. After waiting five minutes the bar/restaurant manageress came to serve us. My wife asked for a mocktail only to be told they do not serve mocktails. We explained that she had one last night but the manageress still insisted they did not serve mocktails. We said the young man the night before had fetched a list from behind the bar. Eventually she begrudgingly made one after my wife told her what was in it. If this is how guests are treated and lied to, the manageress does not deserve to be in hospitality. Everything else about the hotel was exceptional.

I visited the Beamish Park Hotel on my birthday with my wife for an evening meal. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection & really made my birthday special. Thanks again to the attentive staff on a very hot summer evening. We would definitely recommend eating here if your in the area.

Stopped here on way home and while the rooms look corporate they are very clean, bed comfortable and a hot shower so you can ask no more. Headed down for dinner which was garlic bread with cheese for them and a delicious crab and lime salad for me, followed by ham & mushroom pizza, a chicken breast and a beautifully cooked duck breast. Followed by a mango panna cotta and sticky toffee pudding all washed down with a pleasant pinot grigio and a rose spritzer. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, great local produced and laid out well. Overall a great choice and well recommended if you passing. Looks like a good wedding venue and the added plus of golf there as well, bonus.

We booked to stay for two nights but our stay was so enjoyable that we booked an extra night. Our room was very large, clean and comfortable. Facilities were excellent. The restaurant is definitely to be recommended. The cooked breakfast was great and the evening meals were incredibly delicious. The staff were all so very friendly and made our stay all the more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again if returning to the area. We highly recommend this hotel!

We visited in May for Sunday Lunch. We had the lamb and the trio of meats. They were all tasty and cooked to perfection; the meat and vegetables, both plentiful. We had visited on a day when there was a football match and other events on in town. The service was good and there was a nice atmosphere. The only fault was the extra pork crackling, which was more like pork scratchings. A pleasurable dining experience was had by all and we will return.

Firstly I much appreciated the additional of a non fish vegetarian dish to the Sunday lunch menu. The cauliflower steak with couscous was fantastic. Parents and husband enjoyed the roast and felt it was more plentiful than the last visit. Will come again to try the normal menu.

Really enjoyed being on ground floor with our own key to patio door even though there was a wedding on there was no noise. The only criticism was that there were no electric sockets by bed
