This property is ideal for those willing to stay the night for an early flight in the morning, but not i property for that holiday stay. This is exactly what we booked here for. Yes, it is beautiful as a hotel, lush green gardens, wildlife, pool hidden in the jungle, interesting design, pools of frogs between the rooms...if this property was located in the jungle (deep in) and not a busy area, it would be close to perfect. Rooms, we booked the Garden Suite and the Mountbatten Suite..So basically the highest category this property offers. Size wise, wow, incredible, for a hotel a room, they have space, high ceilings and bathrooms that are just massive. Would i say this is a 5-Star Hotel, not sure, 4-Star 100%, but 5-Star, not really. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, mini bar offered the basics and a small garden. Dinner, was passable, nothing that one could say it has that wow factor, but the menu was good, local and international offerings. Breakfast the same, was fit for the purpose, but that is about as far as i go with that. Would i stay again, if traveling on an early morning flight, 100% yes.

Wallawwa is a tranquil haven close to the airport. It was the last stop of our honeymoon before our flight home and was the perfect way to end the trip. The decor is beautiful and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. We also really appreciated the complimentary morning meditation session with Ash. Thank you to everyone at the hotel :)

We arrived in Colombo after a long flight and our room was ready, that was very kind of them ! The room is well maintained, quiet and comfortable. The property is green and lush, with a beautiful pool where you can relax after a long flight ! There are plenty of options for lunch and dinner, meat, fish and veggie options. They will find an option for your every needs. The food is really tasty as well ! We only stayed for one night but couldn’t recommend it more. They also have a spa but make sure you book well in advance, very lovely massage !

We had the most pleasant experience at Wallawwa. Starting with Selvam sir who drove us everywhere and showed us all the star attractions, helped us with everything we needed, to Dinesh sir who welcomed us so warmly in to what he referred to as our “home” for two days- that made all the difference. Special thanks to Lishanth sir, Rick sir, and Kapila sir from the F&B department who took care of us like their own. Kudos to the chef and his team for THE BEST prawn curry, the best french toast, and the most amazing porridge. We are definitely returning as and when possible, and shall be recommending this stay to one and all!

Sensational airport stopover. Our experience was made all the more wonderful because of the staff. Their hospitality attentiveness and care were outstanding. Our stopover was very quick so we could not avail ourselves adequately of the stunning facilities but we will be back!

Perfect Stay to the start of a wonderful trip! Sorry we were only there for 1 night. Greeting as soon as we got out of the car and the food was sensational! Lots of choice, including lots of side dishes with our Fish Curry. Excellent service. Breakfast was yummy too! Everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. Didn’t use the pool as we got there 5.30 pm so didn’t really use the facilities! We shall be back soon. Thank you for looking after us both!
