My husband and I stay at the Sweetwater Branch Inn frequently, and it never disappoints. Its location in Gainesville is perfect for us—right between Savannah and Tampa—making it incredibly convenient. We've stayed in both the cottages and the main house and have enjoyed each experience. We’re already planning another visit in the next couple of months. The peaceful, serene atmosphere of the property is something we truly appreciate. One of our favorite moments is standing on the bridge with our daughter as she searches for turtles in the pond—it's such a special family memory. The breakfast is always a highlight—delicious every time, and honestly, it’s my favorite part of the stay! We can’t say enough good things about the Sweetwater Branch Inn. Thank you for consistently making our visits so memorable!

Our go to for accommodations when visiting specialist at Shands! Staff is always welcoming, grounds are lush and beautiful! Such a relaxing place to stay right in the heart of Gainesville and close to everything! Always super clean, comfortable and quiet! Great breakfast is included. We prefer the cottages and they have a lot to choose from. Our favorite is the carriage house and Victoria’s cottage. We had an issue this trip with the HVAC not cooling properly and the staff was quick to address the problem and moved us to an even better accommodation! Can’t recommend this hidden gem enough! Truly our home away from home and peaceful domicile while in Gainesville!

I can’t praise this place enough. The people are very kind. They’re informative and professional. The cottage was absolutely beautiful! We got the Garden Cottage for a night and it was so worth it. It sits by itself. When we first arrived there was light music playing all around the garden and front office area but not too much. There was construction (I saw somewhere that they’re adding more) but it wasn’t too loud when we were in the cottage. The picnic basket was a bit pricy but had a good assortment for us. We’ll definitely be back for our next event.

My partner and I were greeted by Alicia and the check-in was smooth, fast and we were even treated to a cute rescue kitten who greeted us. Our room was the heirloom and it was absolutely gorgeous. Alicia directed us to a few local restaurants downtown (8-10 minutes) and we stayed for the nightlife. Upon return, the whole property was lit up in these gorgeous lights and Victorian homes. It was a beacon to let us know - we were home. The property is stunning and there is a pool. Breakfast was delicious and the other guests were very friendly. It wasn't packed like a big hotel, quiet and qaint. It was an absolutely wonderful experience - thank you for having us! We will certainly recommend this place to everyone!

Super cute cottages with porches, set up with wonderful rocking chairs. Nice furnishings and the king bed has high thread cotton sheets. The breakfast was mostly ok but they dropped the ball. None of our dietary needs were communicated to the kitchen so we were not able to enjoy some of the breakfast. Nor were they able to make any substitutions after the error was realized. Which is surprising since they also offer catering service and have commercial kitchens and freezers.

This was our second stay at Sweetwater Branch Inn, and it won’t be our last. We’ve stayed in the Garden Cottage and Mae’s Cottage. Both are cozy and well-appointed. The grounds here are lovely. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The breakfast- oh my! The French toast casserole had me dancing in my seat at the thought of getting to experience that again! They’re also very conscious of their environmental footprint. On-demand hot water, compostable plates and cups for breakfast, no pesticides or fertilizers used to maintain the lush gardens…it’s a fantastic retreat from the real world but still close enough to entertainment that you can walk or borrow one of their bikes to ride. I highly recommend that you bypass the cookie cutter hotel stays and check out Sweetwater Branch Inn!
