Hotel has a great location and free parking, but that is all. Front desk seemed quite uninterested in welcoming their guests, did not let us know there is an active (and very dusty and dirty) remodeling going on.
Once we stepped out of the elevator, we could smell the musty humid air in dark hallways with low ceiling, extremely dirty popcorn walls. Room was on a smaller size and outdated with dirty carpet you would not put feet on without shoes.
Bathroom ceiling is unusually low with wet and mold spots, tub tiles & wall have water damage all over. We stayed only because it was late Sunday evening. Hotel should not offer rooms like this. I learned they are remodeling other floors from one elevator (out of 2) being covered with drywall dust and white shoe markings all over the carpers. AC was loud blowing cold but bad odor air. We come to Gainesville often, but will never stay again in this hotel. Imagine 1 star budget motel with a 4 star price, that is what you get here.

Nice room construction going on so no handicap spaces were available during my stay. Front desk very accommodating and Susan In the cafe was great. Nice bright rooms keep in mind this is a very old hotel that has been remodeled and the air conditioning system is loud which would be my biggest ding of not giving 5 stars hopefully the construction plan is to update this system because if you are a light sleeper this is no bueno

The property has bed bugs. While I only stayed in one room, my experiences during and after the stay led me to believe this is not an isolated incident. They dismissed obvious evidence as an "allergic reaction" to detergent, which is ridiculous. (For reference, I have used Tide, Gain, and Fabuloso with zero issues) By their logic, if the exterminator doesn't spot bugs, then the room does not have bugs. Anyone who has ever had any experience with this can tell you for a fact that this logic is flawed. I found fresh droppings under the mattress pad. Yet it's how they dismissed this that should give any traveler pause when looking for a hotel. The way they handled it shows they have zero regard for the individuals, with a focus on profit. Heed my words: they have bugs, and even if you find them, they will dismiss you rather than deal with it. They will not move you to another room or property, either. Even if you check out after that in the middle of the night, they will still dismiss you.

Small rooms. Just updated. Filthy windows inside room. Shower lever not attached. Apathetic front desk. Location is accessible and convenient. Major stay there is the great pizza restaurant attached (food not service). Parking is easy.

Great hotel right on the edge of UF Campus
The hotel is undergoing renovations but we were not inconvenienced at all by the work being done. Our room was beautiful and clean. The staff of the hotel was friendly and very accommodating. We enjoyed the outdoor pool. We would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is located in a prime location for access to the main campus. They are remodeling, which caused problems with the TV cable service in my room. My room did have a wonderful view of the University of Florida campus. Traffic on University is busy and get load at times.
