Spa Hotels in Funchal

Everything was fantastic, hotel location, services and design of the hotel. I enjoyed the 2 nights there. Unfortunately the welcoming was not good for me as I waited for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Yes I came early before the check in time which is 2 Pm and I came at 11:50 and the front deck staff ( Eduard ) confirm to me that my room will be ready at 2 pm but till 3:10 pm only I got to my room after I esclate my issue to the front deck manager ( Peter ), the problem was not about the time I lost, but the attitude of front deck staff as he is looking to my face multiple times and he didn’t come to say sorry that your room not yet ready just to apologizing…

The hotel is in a good location and the sea view room which we reserved had a nice view of ocean. But, I need to mention that this hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The whole building is old and they kept it in an old fashion way. The bath is not good, they don't offer even water in daily service and neither tea. (which is expected from a four star hotel) The elevator is old and always full, really not suitable for an eleven floor building.

The hotel that left a deep impression will have a chance to come back. The hotel is in a great location, close to the edge of the cliff. Invincible sea view. All kinds of swimming pools are suspended on the edge of the cliff at different heights. There are sea water, natural water temperature and heated water temperature, which enjoy great value. There are 2 large restaurants, and the rest of the outdoor restaurants, bars, and salons are so many that they have stayed for a few days and have not found out. The big restaurant buffet has a cabaret show in the evening, and the male and female singers play piano. There are tabloids in the hotel, 6 languages, English and American languages, and there are American and British versions. Service staff gentlemanly, friendly and friendly. Different restaurants with a variety of flavors to choose from.

A bit far from the center. But good cleaning. Very varied breakfast. Pool and jacuzzi that comes in handy when you return from excursions. The views from the terraces are spectacular, especially at night. buses very close

The hotel is old, but everything looks nice and shabby. A lot of stairs to the sea, but also there is elevator. Normal breakfast, a lot of pastry, but for my tasty could be more fresh vegetables, avocado and etc.. Nice, big rooms with cozy doors lile from movie lord of the ring.

This hotel deserves credit for its service and facilities. I stayed here for a week and yes it could benefit from some modernisation but in a way that could also spoil some of the charm that makes this hotel unique,and if you can overlook the decor then it becomes apparent that the interior and exterior of the building is actually a gem in its self. The views from this hotel are unparalleled compared to its neighbours because it was built in a much favoured location. I have found the service here to be very good,for example had a fault safe in my room and it was dealt with promptly. The breakfast is very good consisting of a wide variety of breads,cheese,fruit,cereal etc and you can have omelette's cooked to order also there is even chilled sparkling wine. There are 3 pools one outdoor,one indoor and one rooftop pool with a bar ,there is also sauna steam room and a jacuzzi. The indoor pool is excellent with comfortable loungers around the well heated pool area. The rooms are large and well equipped with air conditioning small fridge and balcony. You can get an electric kettle on request at no charge if needed. Rooms are serviced and towels replaced daily. The highlight of this hotel is the views from the rooms,breakfast area and outdoor pool area with a nice garden and lawn. So my conclusion would be that this hotel didn't let me down once during my stay and for the very fussy travellers yes they will find fault with this establishment in one way it another but for my money I felt that it was a most enjoyable experience and would definitely return.

This is a beautiful hotel and definitely deserves its rating. Our room was gorgeous and had a great view overlooking the hills. The pool area is lovely, it has great views from every side. There were always sun loungers available and it is a peaceful and relaxing space. We never normally bother with breakfast but it was too good to miss, plenty of choice and all freshly cooked. It was great fun watching Bella the robot. We had a meal in the rooftop restaurant and lunch in the pool bar and it was all excellent. The staff were all great too, all really helpful and polite.

Morden, nice and comfy hotel with modern facilities. The location was convenient as it wasn’t far from Funchal by public transport or walk. Within the area, it had variety of options to eat out, exercise and but something essential near by. Breakfast was nice and fresh and well organised. Would come back again if needed.

Lovely spacious comfortable room. A variety of restaurants to choose from and pools to relax in with jacuzzi.Spa facilities available. A very good location with transport on your doorstop to get you to Funchal. The staff are very friendly and very helpful.

We did really enjoy our stay. Our room was lovely and clean, and the staff very friendly. I do however encourage the management to pay more attention to maintenance details before it’s too late; the hotel is on the cusp of customers legitimately challenging its five-star status. Just maintenance details but lots of them for example worn-out terrace and pool furniture, broken decking light fixtures around the pool, blown light bulbs in common spaces, worn-out/broken spa equipment and more. It’s these details that really define a proud five-star hotel vs. a hotel slowly moving towards a change of ownership. It just needs a manager to walk around with more critical eyes and get these jobs done before the start of the next main season, before it becomes too overwhelming for a hotel of this size.
