The Pestana Village hotel is a comfortable and well appointed holiday venue with impressive public areas, a lovely pool and friendly staff. The food is of a good standard and better than any of its local sister establishments that we visited in the Pestana group. Located just to the west of Funchal , it’s close to the world renowned Reid’s Hotel and the swanky Savoy. Frequent public buses stop at the bottom of the driveway to get you into town in just a few minutes. Unfortunately the bedrooms let the place down. They look very tired and are in need of urgent refurbishment. We changed rooms after a couple of nights because the bathroom smelled and the sink was blocked with the soap holder hanging off the wall. The replacement room was identical in layout and everything functioned better but still felt like it had seen better days. The evening entertainment usually consisted of a karaoke style singer or guitarist. None were very good. Indeed they were easily outshone by the superb buskers who performed daily in the city centre. In summary I couldn’t recommend that anyone should stay here if they were expecting four star accommodation. It certainly merits three stars and if that’s what you’re after you won’t be disappointed. In fact you’ll find it good value.

Had an amazing stay ! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Room were very clean with services 2x daily. Breakfast included had a lot of variety and was delicious. Location is close to a lot of attraction within 30 minutes walk. Would definitely come back.

Estuvimos unos días en Pestana Village y la verdad es que lo pasamos genial. El sitio es muy tranquilo, lleno de verde, y la habitación estaba cómoda. El desayuno me gustó mucho, aunque algún día había que esperar un poco para la mesa. En general fueron vacaciones estupendas, repetiría sin dudar.
