Apartamentos Funchal by Petit Hotels

We rented a studio on the 3rd floor for 2 weeks and we loved it! Centrally located, at walking distance of the Cathedral, the main squares Columbus and Municipio with their nearby museums, Mercado dos Lavradores, Avenida Arriaga, the Old City and all other central attractions, including bus stations, the cable car station and several supermarkets. The hosts Veronica, Caterina and Lugero approached us one day in advance and provided instructions on how to find the place; one of them also waited for us to greet us and show our studio. The studio was new and very clean; free cleaning was provided once per week. The room was large, with a small terrace and a modern kitchen quite well equipped, even with a washing machine that we did not use. The free internet worked well, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great and the staff was kind and helpful. The building has a lift used only for luggage, and at its entrance there is a small restaurant offering delicious local foods at reasonable prices. All the neighboring streets offer good options for shopping and for food and drinks. We visited in February so no need for AC, instead we needed a radiator that the host was very kind to provide. We would have appreciated to find in the kitchen a cutting board and some basics like salt, pepper, oil and vinegar, as it makes no sense to buy these when you stay for only a couple of days. As we stayed almost 2 weeks we bought and used them; even though the recipients remained almost full.
