Очень душевный отель. Хозяин фантастический. Я приехала около полуночи, не смотря на это, он все равно меня встретил. Дал советы, был добр. Комната чудесная, чистая, был даже балкончик. Зря не забронировала на все время, ещё вернусь.

**"Atendimento grosseiro e falta de profissionalismo"** Contactei este estabelecimento via Facebook para perguntar sobre disponibilidade em Outubro e recebi uma resposta absurdamente agressiva, repleta de sarcasmo e falta de respeito. Fui tratado como um incómodo por simplesmente fazer uma pergunta, com observações passivo-agressivas sobre "perda de tempo", "pressa inexistente" e até lições sobre como devia ter contactado o hotel. Um estabelecimento que se orgulha de servir bem os clientes não responde dessa forma. Recomendo que pensem duas vezes antes de reservar aqui: se é assim *antes* de serem clientes, imagino como será durante a estadia Nunca, em anos de viagens, fui tratado com tanta falta de educação por um hotel. O vosso tom diz tudo sobre o ‘serviço’ que prestam. Não precisam preocupar-se: certamente não serei o único a evitar o vosso estabelecimento após esta interação.

Beware
After a late email regarding checkin time, check the small print, i finally checked into room number 11, this took me back 40 years as it was so old fashioned with sheets on the bed, mis matched carpets, a 40 year old tv, power point beside the bed coming away from the wall. The toilet has to be one of the most disgusting i have had as part of my accommodation, so small, the toilet bowl all marked, didnt have a shower on last morning as i couldnt face it.
On the plus side i had breakfast on the first morning and for 4 euros i found this to be a good price for what was on offer.
I have read a lot of the comments on this accommodation and i find it really strange where the 10/10 comes from, surely a 2/10 is fair.
The above might also explain why there is no discription of the facilities offered in the rooms.

Absolutely the most caring and friendly family run hotel. Minutes walk to central Funchal area. Such a lovely welcome from Umberto to this homely traditional hotel, was even shown and given a choice of rooms. My room with a balcony had the most beautiful views, with en suite bathroom, where, may I say, the cleanliness is superb, from pure white towels, bedding etc.(I walked on my room carpets with white socks where the soles were spotless when I removed them!) We met John, Umberto's dad at breakfast, again with such a warm and friendly welcome to take our order for breakfast, which was unbelievably good at an exceptionally low price. Fabulous coffee and Portuguese rolls etc :) How lovely on the last day of our holiday too. We were leaving at 4.30am and both John and Umberto were there to say goodbye. Can't wait to return.

We have just returned from a short break to Madeira and had a lovely stay. John the owner is a lovely gentleman and his son Alberto made us very welcome. The hotel is very central and only a five minute walk to the cable car, buses and restaurants. Although the hotel is dated decor wise it is spotlessly clean. We had the breakfast and the Madeira breakfast rolls are delicious, the breakfast is great value. We will return to this hotel. Thanks John and your family for a lovely trip!

Ich habe als Alleinreisende im März 2022 drei Nächte in dieser kleinen, hübsch eingerichteten Pension zugebracht. Besonders schätzte ich das sehr nette und vorallem hilfsbereite Personal und die familiäre Atmospäre, aber auch die zentrale Lage zur Innenstadt und zum Hafen. In der Nähe gibt es viele gute Restaurants mit schönem Ambiente. Das Zimmer war einfach, aber sehr sauber und ordentlich und vom Balkon hat man sogar den Blick auf das Meer. Die Pension bietet insgesamt ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
