Il personale dell'hotel è molto cordiale e disponibile Colazione e pranzo molto soddifacenti Le uniche pecche... camere un poco datate (avrebbero bisogno di una rinfrescata) e piscina lasciata andare (acqua sporca e parecchie piastrelle rotte)

Nossa estadia nesse hotel foi ótima ! Era exatamente o tipo de hospedagem que queríamos. Desde o check-in fomos muito bem atendidos por todos os funcionários. Os aptos eram amplos com toda a praticidade que precisávamos como tv a cabo, frigobar, cama confortável, silêncio, banheiro com ótimo chuveiro e banheira, secador de cabelos, amplo armário e uma linda varanda com uma vista mar de tirar o nosso fôlego a cada manhã e final de tarde. No 1º dia almoçamos no restaurante do hotel em sistema buffet e foi ótimo ! A piscina do hotel é lindíssima e estava sempre limpinha. Só não entramos pq a água estava bem gelada. O hotel conta também com estacionamento grátis e elevadores. A localização é ótima pertinho da Praia Formosa, de Funchal e de todas as principais atrações da ilha ! Voltaríamos com certeza. DICA: tente reservar o apto com vista mar. A diferença de preço é pequena e você não vai se arrepender !

Nous revenons d’un séjour dans cet hôtel et c’est la deuxième fois. La première fois, nous étions restés 6 jours, cette fois-ci 2 semaines fin janvier début février. Nous avons fait de nombreux hôtels 4 et 5 étoiles et nous pouvons dire que c’est le premier à ce niveau concernant les repas. Tout est bon, y compris dans les buffets c’est très dur de choisir, et nous sommes pourtant particulièrement difficiles. Le personnel est très attentionné, accueil, service et ménage, et d’une grande gentillesse. Nous reviendrons dans cet hôtel lors de notre prochain voyage à Madère, c’est sûr.

Petit hôtel (20 chambres, toutes sauf 4 ont la vue sur la mer)
Emplacement parfait, à la limite de Funchal, accès très rapide à la voie rapide.
Parking privé de l’hôtel (13 places), s'il est plain, parking facile dans la rue, il y avait plain de places vides chaque jour.
Supérette à 50m (7-21h)
Arrêt bus (N 02) pour aller au centre ville à 100m
Plage de galets en contre bas (en revenant il faut monter 65m de denivelé). Difficile de rentrer dans la mer sans les chaussure de canyoning. Heureusement à coté il y a des piscines naturels avec accès mer par échelle (5,5€/personne, moitié prix après 18h)
Chambre très bien agencé, nous étions 3, il y avait suffisamment de place,4 prises électriques pour charger les appareils, beaucoup de place pour mettre les affaires dans la salle de bain;
Points négatifs (mineurs):
il manque la bouilloire et un seche serviette sur le balcon.
Diner à la carte (plat 15,5€, soupe 2,5€, dessert 3€) et pas le buffet, mais le repas est très bon. Petit déj en buffet.
Service un peu lent.
La nuit il y a un peu de bruits (les chiens qui aboient dans l'immeuble à coté et les voitures qui montent avec un vrombissement du moteur dans la rue), ce n'est pas très important, mais si vous avez le sommeil léger, prenez les bouchons d'oreilles.
Piscine peu profonde.
Au total - excellent séjour, je reviendrais surement.

Our holiday at the Hotel Escola Funchal in November was amazing in every way. Staff were amazing, housekeeping looked after us every day, the reception staff were full of information and extremely helpful. Dinner was limited choice but was excellent quality so much that we ate most nights. The restaurant was quiet at night but it gave us a chance to speak with staff and find more information about the island and its attractions. All staff spoke a variety of languages which is a great asset to the hotel. Rooms were fine, clean and had good internet connection throughout the hotel. The air condition in our room was first class. We had lovely balcony where we sat most evenings looking out to sea. Hotel is at the end of one of the bus routes from the city centre, depending on traffic congestion it took 15-25 minutes. The service was very regular & dry reasonably priced, a single fare into the city was €1.95 however, one, three,five & seven day tickets were available. We purchased 2 five day tickets at €16.50 each . This ticket allowed you to use any of the city bus routes and these were numerous. All being well we will back to Hotel Escola as it has left us with so many memories.

Good location for those traveling to the island by car. Calm, peaceful and quiet place. With lots of "restoration" nearby. Very friendly staff and always available to help with drinks at night.

Everything was bad! I only booked due to the good reviews. DO NOT listen to the review rating. It was the worst hotel ever! There wasn't any Aircon. Outside was cooler than our room. We complained and they said there's nothing they can do. I told them we would leave on the first day and wanted our money back. They only then gave us an extra fan. The fans only blew the hot air around the room. Our body's were constantly covered in sweat. We were bitten a lot due to the huge vents and creatures coming out of the vent. I tried to book other hotels and was happy to pay more but they didn't have any rooms. We ended up spending the whole day out and only went there to try and get an hour sleep. The last night really was the icing on the cake. A lizard was running around our room and it came from the vents. They tried to catch it but couldn't. That was another night were we didn't sleep. They tried to make out it's because we left the doors open. We never even opened it due to the amount of bugs that were already in the room. There was no point even eating the breakfast due to nothing being covered. Flys were all over it. The trip went from bad to hell really quick. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I need a holiday to recover from the nightmare.

Nice room although dated. Nice sea view. Breakfast great although always the same. Evening meal varies.Hadva great meal on our last evening.
Would have liked a kettle in the room to make drinks. Bar was never open

We came here several times for lunch and found the atmosphere very amusing. It is a hotel management school. The young students are trained here during meal times. The food is served as a buffet at lunchtime. It is excellent and plentiful.
