The hotel facilities and location are amazing! The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast is good with many options. The only negative point is the lack of detail in the service. The y offer only one water bottle per room and charge for refill, they offer no vanity kit or sleepers. Emitem magnólia could be a top hotel in Madeira if they pay more attention to the details.
Overall we had a good time anyway.

We rented 2 rooms in this hotel for 4 days. A good hotel, but far from being a 4 star. Room decor is old and very simple, without any charm, like 2.5 to 3 stars at most. But the beds were comfortable. The available garage is very small and if you arrive late you run the risk of having to look for street parking. What bothers me after a day of sightseeing. Simple, good breakfast.

L’hôtel est bien situé, à 20min à pied du centre ville. Les chambres sont propres et lumineuses, tout comme l’hôtel qui est nettoyé régulièrement, mais la literie très ferme mériterait d’être améliorée. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est varié, la salle de restauration est bruyante aux heures de pointe surtout quand les serveurs rangent en même temps la vaisselle et les couverts sans ménagement. Si vous comptez utiliser le parking, il faudra rentrer avant 19h car le stationnement est vite limité et anarchique devant l’hôtel, sur l’arrêt de bus ou au sous-sol sinon il faudra vous garer dans le voisinage rapidement payant. Le personnel est d’humeur variable, parfois on répond tout juste à votre « bonjour » et on vous dit de changer de place de stationnement avant même que vous ne rentriez dans l’hôtel. La salle de sport mériterait quelques haltères en plus car vous êtes très vite limité si une autre personne est présente. Si vous étendez simplement votre serviette sur une chaise de votre terrasse vous aurez droit à un petit mot vous disant de ne pas étendre votre linge dehors pour « l’esthétisme de l’hôtel » alors que nous étions côté jardin sans vis à vis.

Myself and my husband returned from a 10 day holiday to Madeira yesterday and stayed at this hotel. We can honestly say we had a fantastic time. The hotel is clean, near the centre of Funchal, the rooms are spacious, we had room 126 and our bed was so comfortable and massive I needed a passport to get a cuddle. The bathroom was a wet room with a very powerful shower. We had towels to use around the pool as well as robes. We could have clean sheets everyday if we wanted. The breakfast has a good variety including an array of fruit, bread, meats, cheeses, all eggs even omelettes made to order with many fillings with smoked bacon, beans, mushrooms etc. A really good coffee machine too. The hotel bar did toasties and sandwiches and lovely cocktails. The sunbeds are never full so you don’t need to get up at unearthly hours. We had amazing meals in restaurants including the Indian Palace, I would highly recommend this. The only downsize is that the hotel is situated on a medium slope so be warned. All in all a very enjoyable stay with very friendly staff
