We verbleven 11 dagen met het gezin in Suite Hotel Eden Mar op Madeira. Het is een ruim hotel dat goed gelegen is aan zee op een steenworp van het centrum van Funchal. Het hotel is heel netjes en de faciliteiten zijn top. Verschillende zwembaden zowel buiten als binnen. Hoewel het een groot hotel is, ervaarden wij het toch als heel rustig. Ook 's nachts was het er heel stil. De kamers zijn proper en hebben zeezicht en de bedden zijn heerlijk breed. Echt een aanrader voor gezinnen met kinderen die zich na een wandeling op Madeira naar hartenlust kunnen uitleven in het zwembad.

Anstehen beim betreten des Restaurants, Hygiene in den öffentlichen Toiletten mehr als mangelhaft, Zimmer veraltet, Getränkepreise ca. 30-40 Prozent höher als in den umliegenden Bars.

Stayed in one of the suites which was amazing. The room was spacious and had plenty of storage space - they left flowers and a bottle of cava for our anniversary which was a lovely touch - the staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are exceptional. Would recommend

Awesome location close to supermarket, restaurants and other shops. 10 min walk to the promenade. The hotel itself had excellent facilities and kid friendly. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help.

Schöne Hotelanlage, wobei das Eden Mar etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Zimmer (und das Hotel) ist aber sehr sauber. Das Personal ist durchweg freundlich. Das Essen ist spitze! Frisch, große Auswahl, sehr gute Qualität und regional. Alle Einrichtungen der Hotelanlage können genutzt werden, zu empfehlen ist der tolle Garten, der Spa-Bereich und die (teils beheizten) Pools. Die direkte fussläufige Umgebung ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen: Promenade, Meeresschwimmbad, viele Restaurants, Parkplätze (für Mietwagen), Bushaltestelle, Eisdiele, Parkanlagen und ein großer Supermarkt. Ein kleiner Wermutstropfen ist die Geräuschkulisse, durch Klimaanlagen und Technik , insbesondere in der Nacht. Für absolut Ruhesuchende sicherlich suboptimal, dafür entschädigt aber der Ausblick vom Balkon am Tage.

Located with many other hotels, set back from the seafront on the main drag through Funchal. There are three restaurants within the hotel, although one was closed and the "buffet" one was fairly average. Two further restaurants are attached to the hotel and of good quality - booking required. The rooms were a little tired, with basic shower over a skinny bath and thin, scratchy towels. There are two pools with insufficient sunbeds for the number of guests. Beware the compulsory "entertainment"! Various live acts appeared most evenings - cheesy, Casio keyboard crooning - and at all other times from midday to midnight a repetitive 80s playlist was broadcast from the central outdoor area outside all balconies. If you enjoy a quiet drink or reading before bed then good luck!

Perfect location with only a 30 minute walk into Central Funchal. The hotel has beautiful tropical gardens and first class amenities. We found the staff to be exceptional - an all-round great place to stay. We had two rooms 1221 and 1222 and both had great balconies and views of the pool, gardens and ocean.
