I am normally not overly picky when it comes to hotels, but I would not stay here again. Reserved two queen rooms, requested adjoining and if not, at least next to each other as I was traveling with 5 teenage boys for a camp. Arrived at the hotel at 8pm to be told they were double/over booked so one room had to be a king. They were not adjoining, nor next to each other. The sofabed in the king room smelled so bad of urine that I almost gagged when I opened it up. The bathroom is in serious need of repair, the carpet is gross and sticky. All 5 boys had to sleep in the queen room which was tight. They “compensated” me at check in for the unavailability of the rooms we booked, by giving me the king room rate of $20 less. I was told they can’t do anything about the reservation system as “they allow the central reservation system to overbook rooms.” What??? Meanwhile my husband had booked this room and as the front desk was telling me there were not two queen rooms available as we had booked, he was on the phone with a woman who told him, no there are two available. I said this to the front desk male who said, you see me standing here talking to you, there is no woman here. I called the front desk later that evening after opening the sofabed and was told I could call back and talk to a manger between 10-2 the next day. Anxiously waiting to hear what he/she has to say. Really quite unacceptable. Additionally we tried to use the laundry facilities. Small with just two washers and two dryers. Only takes quarters as expected but no change machine and front desk had zero change. Breakfast left a bit to be desired. Very small and not well prepared for the amount of people. Location was good for what we needed. Right next door to a Walgreens and next to that is an Einstein Bagels…both walkable. Area seemed nice and safe but once we got to the hotel, we didn’t leave until checkout. Beds were ok but nothing great.

Very busy hotel due to baseball tournaments with limited supply at breakfast daily. It seems unless you were there in the first hour, it was all gone. Numerous times there was no cups for coffee even. Also, only given two towels in a room for 3 people and had to ask front desk for towels and linens. Very noisy in halls and could hear slamming doors, people talking in rooms, showers in neighboring rooms, etc. Staff at front desk was great but just seems like having too many sporting events led to an subpar experience.

Compared with China, the facilities are relatively old, probably because the hotel has been built for too long. But the scenery outside the window is very good, and you can feel the reputation of Atlanta Forest City. Some of the staff's attitudes are good and some are bad depending on luck, but overall they are very attentive, close to the Lenox shopping mall, very convenient.

I live in the area and would offen attend the hotel bar restaurant area for drinks and food with friends, This time i went with my toddler and we sat outside , she made friends with another family and while the adults were chatting the girls were out on the grass and drew on the rocks outside with markers , the manager approached the kids on the situation and when I noticed I called the women manager over to see what was going on , she asked could the kids not draw on the rocks and would we like to have paper brought out for them , I said oh no I’m so sorry and no we won’t need any paper , shortly after with out me asking for it the waitress brings me my tab , again i thought it was weird because i didn’t ask for it , they take it and hold it for a long time finally the manager comes out and says they will be putting a hold on my card for possible damage fees for the rocks , me and the family next to me was so alarmed because this was not mentioned prior to taking my card which I find to very sneaky and rude , immediately i said no it’s washable marker and suggested the manager bring water and soap , to see it’ll wash off the rocks , the manager never apologized she bought a bucket with water and i wiped the marker off which you can see in the video I’m attaching , and she just simply shrugged and said ok well I’ll let my director no .. I have never been so rudely embarrassed and disrespected and mistreated and to not even receive an apology ? Is unacceptable and as you can see in the pictures no marker is to be seen because it easily came right off

It was a very pleasant experience staying at Kimpton the Shane. Home keeping was done everyday. Nice toiletries were provided, replaced as requested/required. We were there to visit the city but it also could be a nice spot for staycation as they have a lot of options of room service along with a bar and restaurant attached!

Excellent
JjasminengpropertyI didn’t read the reviews as I ended up in Atlanta unexpectedly after good old Southwest cancelled my Austin flight & Atlanta was my only option to get back home. I’m glad I didn’t anyway because I probably wouldn’t have booked it but I have nothing but good things to say about my 1 night stay. The neighbourhood probably isn’t the best but I wasn’t here to sightsee The shuttle came quickly & the journey from the airport took less than 10 mins The hotel was bright and clean & the lady on reception was very friendly & welcoming. She acknowledged my IHG platinum status & I was checked in very quickly I had room 616. It was spotlessly clean, modern & comfortable with all the hoped for amenities. Fridge, hair dryer, microwave, coffee maker, iron etc. It was also quiet & the air conditioning unit was good as I like a cold room. Clean bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast this morning was also excellent. Bacon, eggs, muffins, pancake machines, juices. They also have free coffee & tea available all day. Didn’t use pool as it’s chilly but it looked clean The lady at reception this morning let me keep my room a few hours longer & was also really lovely. Everyone I encountered smoked & said good morning. As a lone British female stranded in Atlanta I felt safe, comfortable & welcome & I would happily stay again should the need arise Ps I didn’t see any homeless people sleeping in the lobby?!
QQinianzhiyangThis type of room booked by Ctrip must avoid the third floor. When I entered, I smelled a so-called cigarette smell and immediately asked to change rooms. The front desk said that many people smoke on this floor 😅... The hotel only has a small train next door to the airport. It is not very convenient if you have a lot of luggage or it rains.
GGuest UserI am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and have been loyal to Marriott for 7 years. I’ve stayed at Marriott chains all over the country & this location has the worst customer service & staff by FAR. First of all the security for the hotel attempted to hit on me during our first interaction but I kindly turned him down bc I am married. Very unprofessional when you’re at work! Secondly upon checking in the room, there were stains on the curtains, couch and a cigarette burn hole on the bar stool. No seats for the balcony or any privacy on the balcony. The kitchen could’ve been cleaner & the sheets on the bed were not the correct size, there was a mattress cover but no fitted sheet. We didn’t even complain! The real issue came when we were woken up at 8:30am by security BANGING on the door like the Swat team. He literally woke me and my daughter up and was at the door telling my husband that we were smoking and that he could smell it and that we needed to leave the property and would be charged a $500 fine! I immediately told him that we were not smoking and that we smell smoke too and my husband had an incense burning to block the smoke smell from getting to my daughter. We are not tattle tells so we did not care to call downstairs to make it an issue, it was easier to light the incense. We literally travel with these incense bc sometimes there are pet or smoke smells at some of these hotels. The security guard seemed to not care about what I was telling him so I told him not to come back to my room without a manager. He came back twice WITHOUT the manager, said the manager was unavailable and brought a luggage cart telling us we needed to leave or he was going to call the police! I told him to call them bc I was not leaving without a refund. He kept lying to his manager on the phone saying that we were refusing to leave but not telling him what I was saying which was COME BACK WITH YOUR MANAGER. The security guy was extremely rude & aggressive and needs to be FIRED. The manager FINALLY came up to the room 20 min later smh and when he did I offered him to come inside and smell or take a look bc we had nothing to hide. He said he could smell smoke but not tell what it was and I informed him we had an incense burning. He asked us to put it out and said that we couldn’t burn incense or light candles at this hotel. That was my first time hearing a no incense or candle burning policy from Marriott. He told us we were fine and to enjoy the rest of our stay without even addressing the rude behavior from security. I told him we would be checking out immediately and calling Marriott customer service for a full refund for being woken up and harassed. I called customer service as I was checking out to file a complaint and ask for assistance with getting a refund. Well here it is a week later and the hotel STILL hasn’t given me a refund or returned my deposit! Customer service team said the manager said he would not be returning my funds so I’ve escalated it to
GGuest UserThe hotel is close to the highway but there is a great neighborhood with the MLK center and good cafes on the other side of I-75. This is within walking distance on a good day) Parking is a bit of a hassle and will add on $35-55/day unless you plan out a place to keep your vehicle on the street. Rooms were clean and, coming from aomeone who is sensitive to noise, the sound of the highway thankfully isn’t as bad as some reviews claim. The hotel’s staff and management are kind and professional, the gym is great, and there are many nice spots on each floor to sit and relax. I would recommend booking at the rate we saw on Trip.com (cheaper than other sites offered)
GGuest UserThe hotel is good, but I really want to comment on Ctrip here. Most of the US trips about this month were booked in Ctrip, and there are quite a few real problems, but it is more worth mentioning that Ctrip's services. 1) It is easy to make a call. No matter when, the call will be answered manually, instead of fooling you like a lot of customer service machines. 2) In Ctrip booking hotels, air tickets and other layers of protection, there will be problems Ctrip will solve, do not have to go and negotiate with those who speak English. People in different countries will encounter various problems, but as long as they are in Ctrip, it is good to call them. Although the ordered products will have unexpected problems, such as this time actually booked a hotel that is not open, but Ctrip has actively changed to a better hotel. Although it has caused inconvenience to myself, it is understandable that I think Ctrip is so far away. 3) If personal losses are caused by the inconsistency of the information on the website, Ctrip will pay the indemnity and will arrive soon. Ctrip's quality service makes our trips very safe and we don't have to worry about problems. Suddenly I found that many companies in China have done much better than the United States. Ctrip is cheering and supporting you.
GGuest UserI'm not sure why this hotel has subpar reviews at best, because I had a positive experience from start to finish. Was flying through Atlanta on a connection with Delta and missed my second flight due to the first being delayed. As it was the last flight of the day Delta offered accommodations for the evening. There were quite a few locations I could have chosen from, but chose the Holiday Inn as I know they offer free breakfast in the morning. I ubered to the hotel as I figured it would be easier than trying to find the hotel shuttles. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly. I offered my Delta voucher and there was no issue. I quickly got to the second floor to my room. It was late so I went quickly to bed. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. The next day, I couldn't get a flight back to my destination until nearly 5 pm. I asked the hotel if I could check out late and they obliged offering 1 pm checkout which was welcomed. I had to work so I was able to do that from the comfort of a hotel room rather than the busy airport. When it came time to head for the airport, I took the shuttle. It was a quick and easy ride. I believe they operate with another local hotel. Although I hope to not be stuck at the Atlanta airport again, I would stay at this location again in a heartbeat. Thanks for making my unexpected delay in Atlanta a little more pleasant.
GGuest UserThis Hotel is in a great Location. The front desk staff are meh. Not very friendly. The Breakfast is pitiful, sausage sitting in a pan full of grease, I know sausage is greasy, but I’ve never seen it served sitting in a pan full of greased. So not appetizing at all. The first day the French toast sticks were stuck together and half cooked. Fruit bowl never refilled. Charging $15 for that is insane!! I will say the Breakfast attendants are sweet and helpful. The parking is ridiculous, I have to pay $45 per day for an attendant to go park my car 50 feet away. That’s just taking advantage of people. I should be able to park my own car instead of being rushed out of my car trying to grab all my things, shopping bags, etc. Hallways are very loud throughout the night. Ghetto guests allowed to say the worst cuss words and talk any way they want to loudly in front of other guests and Children. I finally had to say something to this one girl. This is a family friendly Hotel as the Aquarium, Coke Museum, Centennial Park are all located within walking distance. Hotel staff shouldn’t let crap like this happen or continue. Good luck if you need towels, an extra blanket, or whatever, Housekeeping doesnt clean or replenish anything and that was on my third day. You have to call and ask for it, but the phone doesn’t work in the room and I had to use my cellphone to call the front desk. I had to go get it myself and the guy couldn’t get into the linen closet cause someone locked the door and they didn’t have a key. He had to go to an open room and get it from there, SMH. I paid over $200 a night to stay here and I’m very disappointed. Won’t be back. Will go stay at the overpriced, outdated, Westin instead and pay for an Uber to drive me and my family to where we got to go.
NNDLAStayed three nights this past weekend. The only thing I can say good is the room was nice. We checked in with a clerk who was polite though not overly welcoming. Our room was on the 3rd floor and the elevator was kinda scary, lots of loud grinding noises. Through our stay we learned the elevator was a problem, loud, jerky and when you tried to go to the first floor, the button light was broken, you had to press it 5 or 6 times before it would move, giving you time to wonder were you going to be stuck in it. Breakfast was ok. Typical for a mid-range hotel. The waffle mix was not good though. Had a very sour taste like it was old. The worst part of breakfast was the worker. She was RUDE! The first morning she said good morning and we responded and then she loudly said ”I'm down here cooking y'alls food, the least you could do is tell me good morning.” Then we heard her tell another guest he needed to return the serving spoon to the right spot because unless he was leaving her a tip (yes, there was a tip jar on the counter) she wasn't there to clean up after him. Our last morning there, she told my 19 year old daughter her shorts were too short and she could ask her to leave as she wasn't dressed. But the woman she was laughing and chatting with moments earlier in the cropped belly baring tank top was apparently just fine. There are signs asking guests to not wear PJ's to the breakfast area and SPECIFICALLY mentioned tank tops were not to be worn. Guess there are different rules for different people. Both days we returned to the hotel after being out our keys were deactivated. We had to go down to the desk to get them fixed (scary elevator!) and the desk clerks did it but were not apologetic at all for the trouble. Upon check in, I got a text saying housekeeping would service the room every 3 days. As we were only going to be there for 3 days, I inquired if I could request housekeeping services. The clerk said to just let them know when we would like service and they will send housekeeping. Our second morning, I stopped at the desk on our way out and asked to have to room serviced and notified them the showerhead had a leak that was spraying the ceiling and could maintenance take a look at it. This clerk was very nice and said she would take care of it. When we returned that evening after being gone all day, no one had been there. All I expected was the beds made, towels replaced and the trash emptied but that was apparently too much to ask. There were ice machines on the 1st, 3rd and 5th floors. The one on the 3rd floor (ours) gave very little ice and when I went to the other ones, neither worked at all. So if you stay here and want ice, bring your own. I did mention the housekeeping issue when we checked out and the older man at the desk apologized for the oversight. The worst though was when we got home. My daughter realized her glasses were missing and was thinking she left them on the bathroom counter at the hotel. She called and the clerk
GGuest UserThe room had a pissy smell and the carpets had a smell they need to change the carpets on the floor, no continental breakfast , no ice . The pool are wasn't open it look a mess . The service was ok .but when you call the service desk no one answered. You had to go downstairs
