The whole place is tired and lacking in basic maintenance. Outside us littered with rubbish, broken signs, discarded kitchen equipment, etc. My room lacked the beautiful loch views. My main complaint is the quality of the food. I had one evening meal that was inedible. Two cooked breakfasts that were cold with bacon that tasted like grilled leather and over cooked egg. The manager is superficially pleasant but is blind to the many shortcomings of the hotel. The place boasts a three star rating but that must have been achieved years ago. Certainly not that standard now.

Would not stay here again. The hotel, is completely in a run down condition. On first arrival noticed a sign on the entrance door, stating they had won a Scottish award for Excellence in 2008. I believe, that no money has been spent on the …READ MORE Trip typeHoliday · Couple Rooms1.0Service1.0Location2.0 RoomsWhen first checked in was allocated Room 3. Went to the room and it was dark and dingy, with curtain drawn. When opened the curtain you were looking at part of roof of hotel . The other window, again looking at flat topped roof, with partial view of loch. The decor and finish of room was of a very poor standard. (DIY) Would not stay in this room. So asked for a room change. Was then allocated room 20, which had good views, however the overall room, again was of a poor standard. Clearly again (DIY) maintenance carried out. Food and drinksDue to the general poor condition of the hotel and rooms, decided not to eat there. As felt it would be of the same poor standard. Noteworthy detailsNone.

good quiet location next to the loch but thats it.shower inadequate and hard to operate.toilet not fixed to floor.smell of damp.sink blocked.bi fold door to toilet hard to close or open.very dated and scruffy.they have obviously been burning rubbish(including a mattress) outside, under our room.rubbish spewing out of the bins which the gulls were taking full advantage of and spreading everywhere.definitely wouldnt stay here again

Strange hotel, if I was just rating on view, price, room, etc, it would be a 5 out of 5...... Quirky guess would be best description King-sized mattress on a double base! Lovely bathroom, but the bath had no taps. You could only fill the bath using the shower! Extremely overpowering plug-in air freshener, but at least you could turn it off. That said, it was a lovely room with views over the loch. Reasonably priced, given the setting. Plenty of parking and staff were friendly. We would have considered having dinner but could find no menu online, in the room, or in reception. I appreciate we could have asked for one, but we are a bit "price sensitive," so it could have been a little embarrassing 😳

Do Not Flush Toilet Paper? The view was wonderful, room clean, and bed comfortable. The place is a bit run down, which is not a big deal to us. But, there was no wifi and, more importantly, there was a sign in the bathroom saying DO NOT FLUSH TOILET PAPER and asking that it be placed in a specially-provided closed trash can.

Perfect We were running late for check in. They were very understanding and kind to us. The room had a beautiful view and amazing bathroom. Just could have done with a blind in the bathroom window.
