Marcan Beach Hotel (Adult Only, 16+)

Reading few reviews got me really worried when I was about to book this hotel for October.I must say on photos looks lovely,so why are some rooms in disrepair,should they be let out as such?In few comments rudeness of reception staff is pointed out,such as speaking in aggressive manner in Turkish to a foreign person who doesn't understand the language.Where in the hotel policy is stated that paying guests can only eat or drink food or water/drinks purchased in the hotel shop or bar/restaurant which is 3 times more expensive than a regular high street shop?It's my civil right to buy whatever and wherever I feel like spending my money!If this is true is appalling?!You hoing to have to work harder on your attitude,maybe new menagment?

I would advise against staying at the Marcan Resort Hotel. We spent 11 nights there in July, and while we were aware it was a 3-star hotel, we didn't expect it to be this disappointing. Upon our arrival, we discovered that the pillowcases were dirty with makeup, the shower cabin hadn't been cleaned, and the sink faucet was rusty. I'll share some pictures to illustrate these issues. They have a policy of changing towels every two days, which initially seemed acceptable. However, they only changed them twice in 11 days both times when we ended up requesting them to be changed at reception. In terms of water, we found only two 500 ml bottles in our room at check-in; after that, we had to go to the bar to refill our bottles from a dispenser. The room cleaning was superficial, and the pool was in dire need of cleaning due to mold buildup in the drains. Additionally, every day the same loud playlist was played at the pool. If your room faces the pool, you'll struggle for peace, especially during the day when you might want to take a nap, as the music is blaring. The food options were limited and not labeled; it was often hard to tell what we were eating since there were no names displayed on any of the dishes, which I found quite strange. If you wish to check out later, you must pay £50 in cash or £55 by card. In summary, I strongly recommend avoiding this

It would be nice to be greeted by a smile on checking in . Not much to ask for from I believe a Russian lady . It’s not normal Turkish greeting expected . Nothing was explained either . TIP make sure you lock your door on leaving with your key . We only found out a couple of days later our door wasn’t locked . So when you close the door on exiting this does not lock it . You need to put the key 🔑 in and physically lock it . This was not explained by receptionist. The hotel is pretty safe anyway but just for your own piece of mind . Location is right in the middle of ***** . But we slept ok . Lots of sun beds so no need to put your towels out crack of Dawn . Nice size pool for a dip . Only worry is glass bottles by the poolside . So be careful bare footed. The lagoon is about 15 minute walk but when it’s hot 🥵 can be tiring . But shocked to find the lagoon is packed with people . I’m sure years ago they limited the amount of people visiting as it’s a nature reserve and in those days you couldn’t take in sun lotion as this affected the waters and wildlife Our stay was comfortable and the rest of the staff were friendly especially the maids who work very hard
