Riad Laaroussa

The experience we had at another Riad set very, very high expectations, so read this with that in mind :) I've worked and stayed in luxury hotels around the world, and if you're looking for a stunning hotel, with pleasant service this would be a top choice. However overall we were looking for more of an intimate experience. Staff were very nice; they were young, friendly, kind and caring. Travelling with my mother however, it felt very uncomfortable when I was asked 'how my wife was doing?!', this summed up the disconnection between the hotel and the experience. A beautiful hotel but short of a 4/5 star experience. It is one of the most stunning Riads you will stay at. The restaurant serves great food, and the views are amazing - if you can handle the three floors of steep steps. Overall, you won't be disappointed but it felt like when we stayed there was no manager for those extra touches you expect when paying this much.

Riad Laaroussa was one of the best experiences in our trip to Morocco. The welcoming was warm and the room upgrade the first night very appreciated. The Riad has dozens of outstanding spots and views, starting with the terrace and continuing with any of the courtyards, alleys, stairs and drawing rooms available for all guests in the Riad. There are numerous fireplaces and that was appreciated in March. We stayed in two rooms, both outstanding and very different one from the other. The quality of decoration and architectural taste is great, as is the comfort of every room. The details matter: we received the most sublime slippers on our first night and we were allowed to take them back home with us. The management is very attentive and capable of adapting plans to any customer need. We had a rather bad weather but the management was able to organise a visit to Volubilis (highly recommended) that turned out to be one of the most memorable souvenirs of our trip. The restaurant on the terrace is nice but it is certainly better on a clear Summer night than during a pouring rain. Be aware that they do not serve alcholic beverages during Ramadam, which is pity since their wine list is excellent and at reasonable price. It will be for the next stay! Fes is fascinating and Riad Laaroussa is very central for any stroll in the Medina; the Riad assistance in luggage transfer and in helping finding the right sposts is remarkable and always available. We will be back soon.

Amazing staff! Hazar went out of her way to help me many times. The chef helped me get some spices at a great price. The rooms are large, impressive, and very nicely decorated. The rooftop is killer! It’s the highest roof in the area with commanding views in several directions.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed in!!!! Everything was just absolutely perfect from the friendly staff to the food at the restaurant and our gorgeous room!! Right in the middle of the old Medina the location is perfect as well.

The best riad we stayed at throughout our Moroccan adventure. Staff were exemplary. Attention to detail and so incredibly kind. Great breakfast with eggs cooked to order. A beautiful central courtyard and garden/pool area, and kids love the heated pool to swim in March. We stayed in the Orange room and very much appreciated the upstairs area with 2 beds for our kids. We only wish we had been able to enjoy the riad longer. Another night would have been great. Book the time to relax here! We can’t wait to go back.
