Family friendly Hotels in Terceira Island

This is quite the best hotel-adjacent experience the Azores has to offer, and you won't regret trying it. The individual cabins each offer an escape to the trees, and the sights and sounds of the forest are really something to wake up to. There are a few design quirks, most notably the lack of a bathroom door, but if you travel with a partner with sensitive ears there is always time to admire the view from the balcony. Breakfasts are faultless - seriously, you've never seen such a spread - and if you're getting up early to go whale-watching they'll deliver a pre-packed version to your treehouse fridge the night before. The staff know all there is to know about the island, and although you will certainly need a car (not too wide in the chassis, preferably) they can show you where to drive it for the best views. A daily dip in the salt-water pool seals the deal. Book it now before it becomes impossible to get a reservation!

This is how you can leave your car at the hotel and have the opportunity to try the Azorian wines. It was far from our best residence and breakfast of our 6 visiting islands (Sao Miguel,,Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Jorge, Pico and Faial). We would have liked to stay there for a day, but our planning for inland flights and boat connections was not allowed, because there are not all the days. flight and boat connections with all islands (after Terceira, Graciosa). If we come back to the Azores, it's first Terceira, With Atlantida Mar. We stayed in a junior suite for just 2 nights on the 7th and 8th of June. Made use of the outdoor pool and hot tub. Very friendly reception. Excellent buffet breakfast with a large choice, including fresh fruit. The goods were constantly replenished. The hotel is located just above the ocean. In between there is a 'walking track' along which you reach the center of Praia after about 10 steps, including the O pescador restaurant. For example, you can leave your car at the hotel and you have the opportunity to taste the Azorian wines. It was by far our best stay and breakfast of our 6 islands visited (Sao miguel, Terceira, Graciosa, Sao Jorge, Pico and Faial). Normally we would have liked to stay there one day longer, but our planning for the internal flights and boat connections did not allow this, as there are not all days flight and boat connections with all islands (after Terceira, Graciosa). If we ever come back to the Azores, it will be Terceira in the first place, with the Atlantida Mar.

The hotel is right in front of the beach and harbour. It is clean and the staff are friendly. They will give you towels for the beach if you ask A room with a sea and harbour view is worth paying the extra for. Breakfast is nice but the same every day. You can catch the bus to other areas of the island, which is easy and only a few euros. Only 10 minutes from the airport. You can get the bus for a euro or taxi for 10 euros. Restaurants and bars are close by. Managed to find some vegetarian food but not much. The local wine is nice and low priced. Little fridge in the room for cold drinks but no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Nice, modern hotel, and we had a very nice updated room with lovely views of the ocean and the Fort. Pretty good breakfast too. Free parking so you can walk about 10 minutes to get to the heart of the old town for shopping and restaurants. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only very small thing we didn’t love was that to get to our room on the 3rd floor we had to walk by the open door of the gym - typical gym smells emanating so wish they would have left the door to the gym closed. Other than that, a great stay!

This place was really lovely for our young family. Overall, we were super happy. The location was great, right beside a public swimming pool area so lots of fun watching the kids jump off the peer. There was a bus stop meters for. The front Tran e which was great for getting to the downtown (5 mins) and a fun journey. 30 cents each! The pools were lovely, and you can’t beat the view. Good variety at breakfast, not much change day to day but we were always able to find something. We got one of the loft rooms but there was really zero sound barrier so it was hard to do anything once the kids were in bed. Some updating in the rooms would be good but given you’re an island in the Azores, it was easy to overlook that. Reception was lovely and very helpful. Lots of people spoke English or enough to communicate your needs. But above all, you can’t beat the view. It’s amazing!

Excelente localização, empreendimento reúne todas as condições para ser o melhor da ilha, contudo parece estar em contenção severa de recursos. A limpeza não abona nos quartos, é notório que fazem limpezas superficiais, quarto espaço no entanto o mini bar nada tem, produtos de higiene parecem misturados com água para render, os pequenos almoços são muito fracos, poucas opções, pouco cuidado, fraca qualidade, pouca comida. A piscina é de água gelada e o jacuzzi não é convidativo… hotel 5 estrelas que não deveria ter mais que 3 pelos serviços prestados, lamentável!

We did not actually stay at this hotel, but I had an interaction that is worth mentioning. We were exploring the area in front of the hotel when I had a mishap. Nothing major, but I certainly needed some attention. We entered the hotel seeking some assistance, and the front desk staff could not have been more helpful. I'm sure they knew we weren't guests there, but that didn't matter. I'm sure that level of service is also extended to anyone staying there.
