I love the design of this hotel—it's a dream come true for William Morris fans!
One thing to note: the hotel is located on a pedestrian-only high street, meaning cars cannot access the front entrance. The nearest taxi stand is at least a 10-minute walk away, which may not be ideal for guests with large luggage. However, Uber can drop you off near the shops, about a 6-minute walk from the hotel.

The room was clean and in a good location. It was on the pedestrian street. There was a Martha supermarket across the street and a church behind it. However, cars could not drive to the door. The front desk lady was very pretty and served with a smile. Since we checked in at night, there were many people in the lobby on Valentine's Day. We lost our room cards twice and they immediately helped us to reissue them. The service was very good. The next morning, the service staff was very enthusiastic and the breakfast was very rich.

A last minute booking as we were passing through Exeter visiting family. The room was decent with a comfy bed. There was a little noise from the courtyard outside playing music at night which stopped about 10pm. No issue. Great central location and a relaxed night. No complimentary toiletries 🧴not even a toothbrush 🪥- which is just a pain to have to go and buy them. I asked at reception and he just shook his head. 🤷♂️99% of hotels we stay at have them - seems a little tight 🤣 - anyway no issues with the room or location so we’d stay here again if needed. 👍
