Evora Hotels with Pools

We spent 2 nights here arriving by train and a short taxi ride from the train station. The Taxi only accepted cash which I did not have. I expected the driver would receive payment by credit card. So, my first encounter with the receptionist was to charge the fare to our room and provide currency for the driver. The receptionist telephoned the manager whom did not accept this arrangement. However, Antonio the receptionist went above and beyond in service by giving me 5 euros for tip and fair of his own money. I was so impressed by the gesture of this staff but not the management. I repaid Antonio with in minutes of finding an ATM machine and gave him double the amount he lended me. Another impressionable staff was Nelson whom treated us with exquisite service at the bar and at dinner. He deserved and received a direct tip that he wouldn’t have received if given through management. Management might want to take note of these performers as quality staff that reflects on the hotel service in a positive way. For breakfast the staff was indifferent and unenthusiastic. The higher end rooms here are large enough with sp**** decor and furniture. The floor is exposed grey concrete with no rug or tile coverings. It looks like it is still unfinished construction when contrasted with the pleasant marble bathroom walls. Good environment control with proper AC, fan, heat function. Bright room with large windows and window coverings that has an option for blocking the strong sun. The facility has both inside and outside small pools with recliners. The restaurant and bar is suitable for wine, cocktails, and reasonably valued food options. The location is walking distance to main tourist attractions in this small town.

We had a wonderful stay in Evora and booked the MouraSuits Hotel. The check-in was super friendly and we even allowed our room to be taken up more than indicated. The hotel offers an extra parking space so we did not have any problems with the closing of our car. We had a superior room for 2 people with view of the pool. The bathroom is beautifully equipped with a rain shower. The pool was also pleasantly cold, but not too cold. The breakfast was a dream. We could order our egg food without a surcharge, there were various fresh juices as well as cheese and sauce cut, baggage, etc. We will come back in any case.

Service: Front desk staff was extremely friendly and cheerful. Same goes to the food & beverage guest facing staff. We were treated well throughout the hotel with no gaps in service or attention. Breakfast selection was fresh and having the opportunity to try traditional “convent cakes” is a real treat. The lobby bar is very quiet but it’s a good place to come for an afternoon snack (sandwiches, toast with butter, potato chips/crisps). Facilities: Wanted to use the outdoor pool but the weather was too cold to go swimming. No fault of the hotel. - does not have an elevator, not good for elderly guests. - parking is limited, call in advance to get a spot or drive around the city to find an empty spot like we did. - driving to the hotel is tricky as the location is in the historic city center with very steel and narrow roads. - free WiFi and good connectivity throughout. Hygeine (overall): Although the convent is centuries old we find the common areas very clean and full of sunlight. Only area we find to be dark are the interior corridors towards to swimming pool and another set of hotel rooms. Antique furniture and the display of azuleju and tapestries were very well done and well preserved. Rooms: We stayed on the 2nd floor and had a nice view to the Cathedral. The rooms were clean and very basic. Loved the hotel using local Portuguese brand Castelbel for shampoo/soap and the body lotion. - does not have hot water kettle (some hotels you need to call to have it delivered to the room, we did not do that this time) - acoustics are quite powerful especially the noise from the corridor to the room. - need to confirm a breakfast time slot the evening before. All in all, our stay was pleasant and I had one of the best sleeps. It was so close to major landmarks and will certainly come back to stay.

First the good. Most of the staff are very nice. The bar and restaurant area are pleasant and so is the pool area. Water pressure in the shower is good. However, this is not up to 4 star standards. The rooms are dated. The doors don't fit properly and there are gaps. It is the first time I have seen a shower curtain over a bath in an hotel in many years. The TV is a very small free standing TV. There is a terrace but it only has one chair. On our second day after housekeeping had been we were faced with stained bath towels, we took them back to the housekeeping room but there was noone there so we swapped them with unstained ones. Certainly not acceptable in any class of hotel. The restaurant is nice and the food is good, but only buffet. Breakfast is extremely noisy because the hotel caters to coach parties and conferences. The breakfast food is nothing great but ok. The pool area is nice but although there is a member of staff in the pool bar area you have to get dry and dressed to go into the hotel to get food and drinks, not really great for a supposed 4 star hotel. The pool also was full of flying ants,/mosquitos on the first day, although there were a few less on the second day.

Too beautiful hotel, great location, super breakfast, free parking on public holidays, weekdays, 5 euros a night! Clean, tidy, bathroom and room are the biggest in the whole Portugal trip! Must like it! Evora has a lot of extra points for this hotel! New Year's dinner is also great!

This is the perfect hotel for a couple of chilled day’s exploring Évora. Our room was lovely and spacious with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with rain shower. We had a view over the pool and the balcony was great for sitting on in the evening. The pool area itself is small and was very quiet when we were there. Breakfast was great with a good choice available - my only small issue is that there was no soya/dairy free yogurt. We had a hire car that we were able to park in the hotels free underground garage. Getting into town was very easy and was just a 5min walk away

Surrounded by gardens, fruit trees and vineyards, this hotel is located only 1.2 mi from the city walls of Évora. It offers a salt water swimming pool and features solar panels, which provide most of the property's electricity.The rooms all are simply decorated rooms and come equipped with air conditioning and free WiFi. Each contains a TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom with free toiletries. The suites have individual entrances for extra privacy and some rooms open out onto a furnished balcony.A traditional Portuguese breakfast is served each morning in the bright breakfast room. There is also a bar where guests can order a cool drink.The Graca Hotel offers views over the city of Évora. Nearby attractions including Giraldo's Square and the Cathedral are within 1.9 mi from the hotel. Free private parking is available on site.

This hotel immediately made me think of the phrase ”I would like but I can't” because it has the potential of a 5-star resort, but unfortunately the services stop much earlier. The structure is surrounded by cork trees, but there is no maintenance: the flowerbeds are not well cut, the external lights do not all work, the paint on the structures where the rooms are located are off. Inside the rooms are spacious, clean but the blackout curtains did not work. In the main building there is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a sauna and a gym. For breakfast they assign slots to choose from, although there isn't that much turnout. The same goes for the restaurant in the evening, where the food is quite good but not excellent. In summary, with a few adjustments this structure could be wonderful, at the moment it is only decent

Localizado à entrada de Évora, vindos de Lisboa, a Casa do Vale é, para além de um excelente Hotel para pernoitar na Cidade Património Mundial da Humanidade, um espaço gastronómico de eleição.,Viemos, levados pela fama do seu Gaspacho Alentejano e não nos arrependemos. Podemos considerar um dos melhores, senão mesmo o melhor que degustamos até agora. Sob a batuta da Chef Patrícia Quintal, foi a maior promessa da Gastronomia, a jovem Mafalda Santos, que ao comando, nos proporcionou esta fantástica aventura gastronómica. Excelente Gaspacho Alentejano. A acompanhar um Branco da Casa, fresquinho e muito bem encorpado. Para terminar, fizemos um “pijaminho” com duas fantásticas sobremesas caseiras, uma Tarte de Maçã e um Pudim de Ovos, ambos caseiros. Destaque para a Chef de Sala, Marta Pinto, sempre muito previdente, destacando-se o seu grande profissionalismo e simpatia. Ficámos surpreendidos com este Restaurante de Hotel, pela sua qualidade. Às portas de Évora, vindos de Lisboa, aqui está uma boa opção para usufruir de um excelente equipamento hoteleiro, aliado a um Restaurante digno dos grandes. A voltar, sem dúvida. It is difficult to fault this extremely well thought out hotel. Every detail required as a new family of a 3 month baby girl was catered to. They prepped our room with all the toiletries towels and a cot we needed for baby and set up a shaded area outdoors with abacus and pillows for guests with children which I used daily for baby’s naps. The staff go above and beyond, the facilities are so incredible, the food amazing and the scenery wonderful. For a relaxing getaway whilst pregnant or with small children/babies it really does cater to providing a tranquil, serene atmosphere in which to enjoy your down time. The housekeeping staff are lovely and keep everything spotless and the amenities of the rooms are great. We shall be coming back throughout the year to experience it during different seasons as they have an outdoor fire pit nook we would love to experience in winter. As a previous Octant Douro customer on several occasions we must say well done Octant hotels for creating this beautiful concept in hotel experience.
