Fuerteventura Princess

Great location, near the beach. 3 pools. Nice food and drinks! Great value for money. Definitely recommend!

I visited Fuerteventura Princess with my family and we were very disappointed. Our room was on Street 8 which was a long walk uphill for the main part of the hotel. Our room wasn't great, small with filthy floors and the child's bed was really uncomfortable. Annoyingly the room keys needed changing constantly at the reception as they would stop working and some staff acted impatient with us when we needed it sorted. As for mealtimes, some of the staff in the restaurants were efficient and friendly to talk to, however the food could be ok but also could be repetitive and cold with plates and cutlery not properly cleaned. There were lots of snacks in the all-inclusive snack bar which was lucky as we got fed up walking all the way back to the main restaurant for lunch. The grounds seemed well cared for but there was too much rubbish left around the main building that needed picking up after the evenings. The pools could be very cold but enjoyable on the hottest days and there were plenty of them. We are from the UK, and most of the events and TV channels were tailored towards those from Germany, Spain or Italy and we never felt very welcome in general. Smaller portions of food served, at the arcade the staff member told us it was closed and shut the door quite rudely on us, entertainment that was not in English and staff that never acknowledged us. Then the first disaster of two struck: the ants. My daughter found ants in her bed, and upon further inspection, there were ants invading our bathroom, 'balcony' and patio space. I told reception I needed the bed sheets changed and the room treated for the ants. They did change the sheets and sweep away the ants from the patio, but the ants still remained for the rest of the trip and we dealt with the situation our self. We found them on towels, clothes, and the toilet. It was disgusting and we had to move our daughter out of the child’s bed. The second disaster was when I sustained an injury. When walking down to the beautiful beach, I tripped and injured my ankle and suffered a deep cut to my knee. I nearly fainted and as we were still only by the beach door to the hotel grounds my husband quickly escorted me to our room and then to the pool to the lifeguards that were just starting duty for the day and who were absolutely wonderful, a fantastic help and remained one of the very few friendly staff for the rest of our stay. They iced my ankle got me water and cleaned my knee, they then called for another higher member of hotel staff who did not introduce herself or say anything kind. She asked many questions and told us 'If you do this again, go to someone on the beach. I'm not a doctor, but if you've walked here, it can't be broken'. She then gathered the lifeguards around and began having a go at them for helping me when I never fell over by the pool. I had no sympathy or understanding from her at all, I felt sorry for them.
