This is a two-star hotel, falsely advertised as four stars. Very poor management, disrepair building, small rooms with constant pump noise and foul small from the toilet, with poor hygrines in the rooms and the restaurant. Avoid this poor hotel.

All areas of the hotel internally and externally were spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Every member of staff were lovely, polite and very helpful. The entertainment was entertaining with lovely Ci Ci doing the best she could. The bus service was not the best times but we used it twice to visit Mahon and Ciutadella and they were both a worthwhile trip. The gorgeous beach was so close, which was great, and although sunbeds were 20 euros a day we went after lunch and were charged 15 and later another day 10. Neither the bus service & sunbeds are the responsibility of the hotel so should not be included in a hotel rating. But ..... Breakfast and lunch were fine for us, but evening meals were not very good quality on several occasions. The beer & white wine were ok but the red wine was awful and very few seemed to be drinking it. We were All Inclusive so our Spirits were all local cheap budget versions of branded spirits and were served in glasses which had a rim shoulder 1/3 up the glass making that 1/3 thicker. This gave the opinion of a good measure but 2 ice cubes only left room for a small measure then filled to top with mixer - very crafty! We loved the hotel and the surrounding area but we would not return on an All Inclusive basis.

A very quiet Hotel, but that was probably because they were running down towards closure. No Baggage trolleys, so I had to drag our 4 bags into the lift and to the room by myself. Transfer bus stopped on the road, luckily we had the help of a group of young lads on our coach to take the bags down the steep slope from the road to the restaurant. Only 2 lifts, 1 was broken. Door key card failed several times needing a trip back down to reception. Outdoor seating areas was for smokers. Nowhere else for non smokers to go. Adult only Hotel, but a noisy kids park next door with a generators for their inflatable just outside our window. Santo Thomas was VERY quiet. Only 4 buses a day to Mao or Ciutadella. If you dont want an early breakfast, then its 40 euros by taxi. We paid for a drinks package with our evening meal, seemed a bargain at 3.30 euros each per day each. The white wine was like vinegar, the red wine was icy cold and the beer not much stronger than water. Lots of cold meet ane cheese if that grabs your fancy, but if you wanted something vaguely warm, the bacon was unchewable, the scrambles egg was almost 1 big solid lump, the fried eggs couldnt be cut with a knife and the bakes beans stone cold. Even the plates in the plate warmer were not very warm. The "fresh" juice was powdered and very weak. Coffee only available with breakfast not in the evenings. Evening meals had been sitting for so long, probably since lunchtime that they were inedible. However the ice cream was nice. Several people eat out most days , as did we, thus wasting the money we had paid for half board and they had paid for all inclusive. The only hot food we found was a portion on chips at the poolside bar. Great food at the hotel next door, if you want it. 20 euros deposit for a pool towel (fair enough) but that was refunded in cash, the trouble was the bar didnt accept cash and the local supermarkets had closed for the season! The entertainments manager was a great young girl and had a quiz lined up for when the "booked acts" didnt turn up. Overall very dissapointing only the unseasonable warm weather to make it feel like a holiday. My advice is to AVOID this hotel and dont waste your money here.

Very poor experience in this hotel. Definitely not a 4*, even rating it a 3* would be much. The room was tiny, smallest room I ever seen in an hotel of this type, just a small wardrobe for 2 people, not even had a bedside. Unconfortable bed. Had issues with the room light that was flickering all the time and making a annoying noise, reported twice to the reception and nobody cared to get it fixed all week. Also the worst food ever had in a 4* hotel, bland, overcooked, and not much variety, most of the time it was luke warm or completely cold. Spain has such a rich cuisine and this hotel did not make any effort to demonstrate that. It was noted that products they used were very poor quality. Understand they want to reduce waste, however everyday they using the leftovers like bacon and sausages from breakfast to do salads etc for the dinner, like once is understandble however everyday is just absurd. Also for several times found dirty plates and dirty cutlery. The drinks on the all inclusive was very limited and pre-made drinks, very poor quality. Very disappointing overall. Also not friendly staff, rarely you would see them smilling. Only plus of this hotel was close to the beach and quite central in Menorca and could get anywhere in less than 45min.

My wife and I had a lovely week at Globales Lord Nelson. The hotel feels very much like a family run hotel, the staff are friendly the rooms and communal areas are clean and comfortable. We went all-inclusive and found the restaurant provided a good range of food including theme nights. It is not the Ritz or Clarridges but it does not set out to be it provides good quality food in a mass catering environment. The beach, which is only a few yards from the hotel, is a long stretch of golden sand which is litter picked daily. The sun loungers and parasols cost 20 euros a day which, if you are not keen on siting around the pool and fancy the sound of the sea and the feel of the sea breeze, is worth every euro. Would we stay again? Yes.

Just back from a 4 night stay and after seeing some reviews, we were unsure what to expect. We certainly weren't disappointed, it's spotlessly clean and the food is lovely, snack bar the food is made to order from a small menu if AI, but the portions are big and the onion rings are the nicest I've had! Rooms are a decent size considering you're only sleeping there and are comfortable and clean. The pool is freezing but refreshing if you've been laid in the sun! I was expecting a nightmare getting sunbeds but each morning there was plenty pool side - maybe as it was so close to end of season. What I dont understand is people getting beds directly in the sun at the pool and then spending the whole time under an umbrella which covers the people around them, there are plenty of beds in the shade! Direct access to a lovely beach and a couple of bars and little shops in walking distance. We went to Bertos along the road which was brilliant. If you're looking for a lively resort with lots to do this isn't it but for a relaxing break it's perfect!

This was our 2nd stay, although this time we stayed in a Bungalow, which we enjoyed (apart from the uneven path leading to our Bungalow ) I have mobility problems so it wasn’t easy. The staff were friendly, especially Maria ! When we complained about the smell in the Bungalow we were given a nice smelling spray . The food was good as far as we were concerned , different Athena’s each night . We met some really nice couples there . The beach good . my husband swam in the sea - warmer than the pool, All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our 11 day holiday - so much so we have just booked gi back next June We have again requested a ground floor Bungalow due to my mobility problems . Thank you to all the hard working friendly Staff , see you again ! Dawn & Harry Hatley

We hope that this honest review will help potential holiday makers. Firstly, the lovely quiet resort of Santo Tomas is really beautiful with great walkways for miles along and above beaches and coves. Unfortunately to get to this walkway you have go out the rear doors of the hotel and walk through Globales Lord Nelson’s smoking area by the pool; then again suffer the smoke to get back in to the rear of the hotel, which triggered my asthma. So unhealthy and inconsiderate of non-smokers! The hotel was a BIG disappointment. It is definitely not 4 star! As others have said, rooms and balconies are small. Also the wardrobe is totally inadequate for 2 people for 1 week, let alone 2 weeks. We ended up having to hang clothes from the picture frames. We always choose adult only hotels and request a quiet room on a high floor. After unpacking (and struggling to find space for our belongings in room 512), we became aware of lots of noise from children ??? and their parents. On looking down from our balcony we discovered, right next door to the hotel, a row of bouncy castles/trampolines/children's play areas/bar & restaurant - plus a stage with many chairs for performances. The screams of very many excited children, the loud music, etc at this place ('Las Dumas') was awful for us. Next morning we waited 40 mins to speak to the rep who said she’d had a lot of complaints about Las Dumas. She helped with a room change - to 523 - a quieter room. So we had to repack, move everything, and unpack. The room was just as small and the bathroom and balcony smaller than in room 512. Much worse though was the shower - tiny and claustrophobic. Fortunately, we are slim but each of us could still only just fit in to it and had to shower with the door open, so water sprayed out into the bathroom. The pool area is disappointing with sunbeds crammed next to each other all the way round. We saw people putting towels on them even before sunrise! ?? Despite being near the beach, there is no view from the pool; just trees and other buildings around. We weren’t drawn to try and sunbathe there at all; instead we enquired at other hotels about day passes to use their pool. Prices varied from a ridiculous 200 Euros at the newest hotel, 30 Euros at Seth 55 which included use of all their facilities; and at another with a wonderful view of the ocean the friendly staff said “No charge, just buy a drink”. The food at Lord Nelson was OK the first week but only average the second, with certain foods running out to be replaced with something different. Once we asked where an ox cheek dish had disappeared to and were told bluntly “Kitchen ran out”. No apologies. The restaurant staff hardly ever smiled and seemed unhappy. No wonder with the older woman supervisor as a boss. We had to complain about her shouting at us that we could not sit at the only remaining table one breakfast time “NO! THAT IS FOR 4 PEOPLE!” We explained that there weren’t any free tables but “NO! THAT IS FOR
