Westville Hotel

Long story short - all the food was bland. 5/10 max. Anyways! My husband and I made reservations for 6 as we were going to the Ardhowen at 8, thinking this would give us ample time to eat then go do some fishing before the theatre. Unfortunately, thanks to continuous poor service we didn’t leave until 19:45. One hour and forty five minutes for a 3 course meal. The staff, including the manager, just ran around moving bottles from one side of the room to the other. Customers appeared to be an after thought or inconvenience. When our main course was finished, the waiter lifted our plates and walked off without asking if we wanted dessert so we just sat there hoping someone would notice and approach us to ask if we wanted anything else. Didn’t happen. After about 15 minutes sitting at a completely empty table, I went up and asked for a dessert menu. After some time the manager, who bumbled our starter and main order earlier, came over and said “What would you like?” then took our order and marched off again. There was almost zero hospitality shown by anyone, especially the manager who you’d think would either know better or have gotten the position of manager because he was actually good at his job. Like I said, the food was bland but ok. The prices were standard for that type of menu in that type of establishment. Clean premises with decent ambience. All those things considered, I wouldn’t have rushed back but wouldn’t have said no either. However, because of the borderline awful service and unprofessional manager, it’s not going to be a place we go back to for a long, long time. If ever.

Hen Party Afternoon Tea Our recent hen party enjoyed an absolutely spectacular spread that we all agreed was the best we'd ever experienced. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding – from perfect scones and delightful pizza to an array of delicious sandwiches (including wonderful salmon), and the most incredibly fresh and scrumptious cakes. Not only was the food superb, but the service was excellent from start to finish. We truly appreciated being able to take home what we couldn't finish. A big thank you to The Westville team for an afternoon of pure indulgence!

very impressed with this hotel. very clean and comfortable, very friendly staff. best of all was the food: our evening meal in the restaurant, and our breakfast, were really good. I recommend!

I came in for dinner in the bar. And there seemed to be a tension between the staff on the floor. We had to wait 20 mins for our drinks. The atmosphere seemed very tense in the Bar. The food was lovely.

Excellent hotel first class staff in all departments 5 star breakfast close to town centre good parking on site easy to find definitely be back only criticism alcohol very expensive compared to bars in town

Travelling to the hotel late due to ferry reception called to maker sure we was ok and still arriving was a nice little touch, all staff very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean with everything that you need. The bar is well stocked and a good selection of drinks you wont be disappointed. Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise with the options available very good choice and cooked fresh would highly recommend staying here.
