Lusty BEG Island

Ciaran Wilson 2/5 2 minutes ago on Google - from constantly creaking floorboards to paper thin walls, the rooms are too noisy for lite sleepers - guests dogs left unaccompanied in rooms, so barking anxiously, despite resort policy not to leave pets unaccompanied - WiFi constantly dropping so no television to drown out external sounds - 5am fire alarm going off and fire door closure mechanism breaking resulting in only being able to open our exit door ajar to leave the premises - yogurts offered at breakfast out of date over a week - an unnecessary and unprovoked altercation with another guest due to them being called back to they're room because they're dogs left unattended and barking throughout the night, resulting in use having to leave the island in the middle of the night due to verbal and physical threatening behaviour - management's unprofessional and unhelpful response to the above issues when contacted via email. Initially offered a voucher for a nights stay, then rolled back to an insulting reduced offer even though we lost our on a 200e nights accommodation. - I would not recommend staying here, there is plenty of alternative and better ran accommodation elsewhere.

Visited Lusty Beg over St Patrick's weekend, the food was beautiful, as always, especially loved the chowder & mushroom starters & biscoff waffle, with fantastic service from Amre & team in the bar also. But the best part of our stay this time were the massages with Shannon, she really did her all to make my mum & I's stay and treatments special, so we are writing this review to say thanks to her, we can't wait to come back for more!

Beware! We stayed at lusty beg for our second time in a few months on Friday the 7th of march. We went to get on to the ferry across and was directed on by the ferry operator. My car front bumper was damaged whilst getting on, the car following behind me had to stop as there car bumper was also hitting the ramp. The operator told them to go back and they ended up parking there car on the opposite side of the island all weekend. The ferry operator then took us over and left this other couple standing with there stuff. When I got over I made the staff aware straight away the damage to my car and sent them pictures via email. The staff on reception as me what I wanted to do and I said I will leave it with you. I asked the following day for an update and there was nothing. And on Sunday when checking out I asked again had A meeting with the manager mark. He said the operator told him he knew of no issue and the reason the car behind me stopped was because it was lowered. Luckily during this meeting the other couple where checking out and I got them to sit in with us and give us there account, they told mark that there bumper would have been damaged had they not got out and checked and reverse back, the cameras on the far side are too far away and there are no cameras on the boat. A week on from me contacting for an update mark has stated they will not be liable and I have to pay for it myself, so anyway travelling over be well aware. I will be taking legal action through small claims court, and I will not step foot back at lusty beg!

We had a superb couple of days staying at Lusty Beg and felt totally relaxed. The staff were so friendly and professional. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious with plenty of options available. Our room was very cosy and comfortable with a view across the water which was stunning. A special mention must go to Shannon, the brilliant therapist at the Spa whose treatments were definitely the icing on the cake for us. I cannot recommend her highly enough for her personality and of course her expertise. We had the seaweed baths and I had a facial and head massage and without doubt it was the best I have ever experienced. All in all it was a 5* experience.

Bar/restaurant were perfect, guy on reception was robotic and to friendly you could tell it was insincere, we stayed in room 24…….tiny pokey small room, very basic, head board was filthy, tv was so small, ZERO WiFi all weekend and we told the hotel and they claimed they would fix it, just one soap in bathroom, shower gel dispenser empty on arrival and cleaning staff were ready to clean our room at 9am sharp when we were still sleeping and never cleaned it after even though we spent over 4 hours out of the room that day after 10am, for the expense we paid it was a total let down, was considering getting married here as we’re newly engaged and not a hope after this

AVOID our trip was for 4 girls booked using a deal on living social and we paid for spa treatment upgrade, stay went ok but when we went to get are 4 spa treatments Lusty beg refused to honour the voucher from living social we got no treatments which we had paid for. They just point blank refused said NO my advice stay clear of this once fantastic getaway and if your going don’t use any of the sites that give you deals like living social as what you pay for will not be honoured.
