Adventure Inn

The staff went above and beyond to help us charge our electric vehicle. The room was comfortable and clean. We didn’t arrive until late and the staff was there to help us even though it was after 11 o’clock at night. They were very responsive and thoughtful.

2 story rustic motel (stairs only) a 5 minute drive from the main drag. Keypad hotel room entry. Simple bathroom with soap. (Bring your own shampoo and conditioner). Free WiFi. Pet friendly (lots of barking). No sound proofing so especially loud downstairs. Split A/C unit, microwave, mini fridge.

Completely lovely accommodations. Friendly staff. Charming outdoor seating areas. Comfortable rooms, beds and bathrooms. Very oriented toward travelers heading to or returning from canoeing adventures in Minnesota's Boundary Waters. They coordinated our three rooms for before and after our family adventure perfectly.

Great local landing spot for the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness. No frills, but we knew that going in. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The only downside was that the walls seem to be paper thin and we could hear people on the front porch talking, they weren't loud, but it was the same noise you would get at home if someone were in a room next to yours talking. They did have some large sound absorbing squares in the halls to attempt to combat the noise. The landscaping is really nice - I love the canoe out front with flowers!

This is a reasonably priced local motel. There aren’t a lot of frills, but didn’t expect that. Rooms very clean—we had a handicapped accessible room. Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Beds were comfy. Table and chairs, so we got take out and ate several meals on site at the motel. Nice chairs to sit on outside on the cement patio area. This is my second stay, and would stay again. We had our two small dogs along, and they had a very low charge per night for pets. There is not breakfast or coffee in the lobby, which I had read somewhere in a review. Overall, very pleased with our stay. I talked with staff when booking, and they were very helpful in selecting an appropriate room for us.

My wife and I were on a motorcycle trip through the North East Minnesota with a two night stay at the Adventure Inn. The Inn was in the perfect location for our stay being a short walk to restaurants and attractions. It is about the same distance to the bears as wolves. Once we get to a spot we walk everywhere. The room was large and very clean as was the bathroom. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. The staff was also very nice and professional.

Our group of 10 couples stayed there on an ATV ride on Prospectors trail. I was amazed how quiet the rooms were. Really appreciated the lawn chairs on the deck. Good place to gather with friends. Appreciated the night light. (It's the little things). Will definitely stay there again.

I stayed here one night during a 3-day motorcycle adventure, and arrived dirty and sweaty after riding over 300 miles in temps ranging from 55 degrees along the North Shore to 90 degrees at the end of the Gunflint Trail. When I arrived in Ely, the temp was 89 degrees and, unfortunately, the AC in the building where my upstairs room was located had been out of service for a few days, so the room temp was 86 degrees. The owner had made me aware of this a few days prior to my trip, so I was aware of the issue but at that short of notice I was not able to find another place to stay. Aside from the room being very, very warm all night, it was clean and the shower worked well to cool me down. The owner was great, and he was doing everything he could to get the problem with the AC fixed. There isn’t a breakfast or coffee service in the morning, but there are plenty of options for that nearby. I’ll definitely consider staying here again if my travels bring me into the area.

Great little Mom and Pop place. Polite staff, clean rooms. The beds were comfortable and our room was well maintained. No breakfast, no ice machine. The owners communicated with us and planned for our late arrival. They made the arrival and departure super easy. Overall a great clean place. I’d stay again for sure!!!
