I booked a a night within the hotel on Halloween as we had booked a walking ghost tour within the city. It was a bit of a walk down to the Royal mile taking about 25 mins but as it was dry it was ok. The hotel was fantastic, the reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The entrance lobby was warm and clean, very inviting. All of the corridors were very well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious with a queen sized bed, seating area and a good sized bathroom. The room again was nicely decorated and well equipped. Due to the restrictions the hotel restaurant was closed but we were allowed to order food into the hotel and the receptionist even pointed us in the direction of local shops. I would recommend the hotel and will most probably stay again.
Asked for non allergenic bedding which was provided, however one of the pillows was still feather down which I was not aware of until leaving ( as it was my partners pillow) Was very allergic with itchy eyes and sneezing. Which only developed after being in the room. Bit difficult to work the heating system.
Other factors were adequate. Housekeeping staff are very attentive. Breakfast lacked more vegetarian options for the hot breakfast such as mushrooms, vegetarian sausages.
I had chosen this hotel as it was priced somewhat competitively and with its close proximity to the centre, we decided to take a cosy room with a window. Cosy room with a window is an understatement. Thankfully, as expected, we didn't spend too long in the room as we were out exploring what Edinburgh had to offer but the room was super cramped and made for an uncomfortable stay. The bed is pushed against the wall with a window. You cannot open said window if you're using the bed as it comes out onto one half of the bed. Me and my partner found the mattress to be rather uncomfortable, I had a particular gripe with the pillows as even with two, my head sunk to the mattress and provided zero support. 3 pretty poor night's sleeps, was very much looking forward to getting into my own! There is nowhere else to sit in the room other than the bed. There is no tea or coffee facilities. You can put luggage under the bed however there is nowhere to store the contents, so you're constantly in and out of your bags which take up valuable room space anyway. If you weren't close to your partner, you really will be after staying here. The bathroom is nice, shower is really good however any bathroom habits is echoed into the living area with very little privacy, it got funny by the 2nd day and we just embraced it. We driven to Edinburgh so we parked our car about 15 mins away from the hotel, no problem, £30 for 3 days. The hotel is about a 15-20min casual walk to the main attractions which wasn't totally ideal but not a problem really, I just know we could have got closer for cheaper. We didn't try breakfast so can't pass judgement on that as there were plenty of cafes on the lead up to the centre and the centre itself. The hotel itself is really well decorated and modern. I had zero complaints regarding the cleanliness, it was really good! Staff were super attentive and helpful too, we asked for two extra pillows and were provided there and then, no issues. Check in/check out was really quick and straight forward. Wouldn't return due to uncomfortable bed, super cramped room and poor value for money. Still had a great time in Edinburgh though!

Great location right in town centre. Staff always helpful and polite. Rooms a good size, nice modern and stylish. Bathrooms great size and had bath and shower. Spa is also nice if a little pricey for use of the outside hydro pool but added to our experience. Concierge great at arranging taxis and helping with luggage. Breakfast was quality and well worth the money with Al a carte and buffet both included no need to choose. Set us up for the day. Would recommend worth every penny made our Edinburgh experience very memorable.
Spacious rooms, twin rooms available for friends trip. Good shower and some complementary tea and cookie in the room. Unexpected that baggage storage was not free after checkout. Location is a bit far from the center, but close to Dean village and nice river walk. Could be good for a longer stay. Overall good experience.
We had an amazing stay at Moxy. The lobby is great, with loads of board games and reasonably priced drinks and meals. The room was also really good, with good soundproofing. I was afraid that the automatic bed light mentioned in other reviews would bother me but not at all - it only lights up if you get up, not when you’re in bed. Would stay again!
Very nice and modern hotel in the center of the city and close to the convention center. We stayed in much bigger since it was intended for disabled individuals. Very good breakfast included. Staff was wonderful in the front desk as well as the restaurant. The front desk staff gave us great ideas for places to visit as well as great restaurant recommendations. At the restaurant in the morning staff was kind and meeting all requests to the best of their abilities and in the being making recommendations for drinks, beers and whisky. The room was ample, clean and modern. Overall a great place to stay in Edinburgh.
In all honesty we decided on the apartments because it was the cheapest available for a bank holiday weekend and seeing Harry Styles. It was great and no complaints and we were pleasantly surprised, it worked well having a bedroom then separate living area with sofa bed and mini kitchen for privacy & snorers lol. We initially thought it was the west end so bit far out from Murrayfield stadium/princes street but it really wasn’t that far at all and was a nice sunny day. Would 100% stay here again
Very nice hotel! Beautiful and spacey room. Near to the haymarket train station.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
Will recommend this hotel so much!!
Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

CCANThe hotel location is very good, very close to Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, it is a little far away from Royal Mile Street, but can be reached on foot, the town is very suitable for walking.
The hotel implements unmanned management, and you can open the door and the room door yourself according to the password you check in. We are a family of 5 staying with children and living suites. The rooms are large and clean and well-equipped. You can cook your own meals. Tableware and pots are fully equipped (but I do n’t see a microwave). We are accustomed to the British diet. The house even provides equipment such as vacuum cleaners and washing machines, which is in line with our home habits.
The price is slightly higher, but for the case of five of us, it is still a lot more cost-effective than booking two single rooms, especially it is really good to be able to cook by ourselves.
In particular, we need to remind everyone that the hotel will send you an email 7 days and 1 day before the check-in, which will contain the room number and password for the check-in. If you booked on Ctrip, because they may have booked through other channels, the reserved mailbox is not ours, we cannot receive the mail, we must contact Ctrip customer service one day in advance, get this information, and then Can stay. Because the apartment is unmanned, it will be inconvenient to communicate if there is a temporary problem.
GGuest UserMy recent hotel stay was a bit of a mixed experience. While the hotel was clean and well-equipped, there were several issues that detracted from my overall satisfaction.
Before arriving, I had communicated with the hotel via email and was told that they could be reached via WhatsApp. However, upon arrival, I was unable to get a response from the hotel on WhatsApp. Additionally, there was no reception area, and check-in had to be done over the phone, which required multiple long-distance phone calls and extra fees.
The day before check-in, I received a last-minute email from the hotel requesting a deposit, but they did not provide any information on how to make the payment. Not all of the staff were willing to provide assistance, but the last person I spoke to was patient and helpful, which allowed me to check in smoothly.
One major safety concern was that there was a step outside the bathroom, but the floor was not marked, making it easy to trip and fall. Another hazard was the transparent coffee table in the living room, which caused several stumbling incidents that could have led to injuries.
Overall, while the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the issues with communication, extra fees, and safety hazards detracted from my experience.
GGuest UserSo I checked into this hotel late on a Sunday night April 22nd. I had a 2 day business trip in the city. My company books the hotels. After an uneventful pleasant check in experience I went into the room and settled in. At about midnight there was a lot of noise outside, to my dismay there was a huge construction crew doing roadwarks. The noise was very, very bad. It went on until 2 am. Needless to say, by the time they finished, I was wide awake having pressed my shirts, caught up with some work, etc. Today I went to reception and asked if I could be moved to another room in the back of the hotel. I didn't complain as I know it hadn't been the hotel's fault. The lady and gentleman in reception were super apologetic and promptly gave me another room, not only that, they also upgraded my room which they didn't have to. I hadn't asked to move rooms the night before as I kept hoping the construction crew would finish soon, and to be honest I was very tired after long flight delays. The staff had an opportunity to satisfy a customer and they did. I did not ask for the upgrade or made a fuss as all I wanted was to make sure I had a good night sleep in case the construction crew came back tonight. Well done to the staff, I'll return.
GGuest UserThis is a rather disappointing stay. I hope we can get a proper compensation.
1. The bathroom does not have any basic toiletries, not even hand soap. We had to go down to reception to ask and was given hand lotion and told that it works as hand soap?!?
2. Breakfast is not ready at 7am. Breakfast is supposed to serve from 7 - 10am. On first morning, breakfast spread was not complete because chef came to work late. (Photo shows what was available to guests). We had to leave to catch our day tour bus so we barely ate anything. On the next day, no breakfast was served because there was issues with gas.
3. Room cleaning was not complete. Room cleaning only made the beds and refreshed the towels. The dustbins were not emptied and the toilet papers were not replenished.
RRobinsonzThree friends visiting for the festival - our basement apartment was perfectly and centrally located near haymarket, but not too noisy. Huge and really well equipped and with 2 bedrooms, each with a sofa bed and also 2 bathrooms. All that you need, including iron, 2 hair dryers, a few toiletries and tea coffee milk etc to get you started or tide you over for a couple of nights. Plus lovely big kitchen dining living area. Highly recommend and was great value for the standard of finish and the fact it was the busiest weekend of the year! Would recommend and will return.
This was clearly once a nicer hotel, but it's now rather shabby and needs some updates. I slept well enough and the room was spacious. Maybe it was just my room, but but the room didn't look like the photo on the website; it looked familiar but as though someone had gone in and taken out the nice things after the photo was taken. The heater needed an instruction card, sometimes we could figure out how to work it and sometimes we couldn't. The wardrobes were attached to the wall but were leaning so far forward they looked like they were going to fall over. There were only a few hangers provided, all but one of them children's size. The bathroom was what really let things down. There was a slight step up into the bathroom and the laminate was peeling off it, so quite a tripping hazard. The bath/shower was very tall and difficult to step out of - a step stool would have been a help. One day there was no warm water for my dad's shower, but then plenty for mine after and we couldn't figure out why. Then the next day despite setting the dial to warm and fiddling with it, my shower was pretty tepid. The toilet sometimes flushed better than others, which seemed to do with the looseness of the handle. There was a lot of empty space under the counter with the sink, which I think would be a good place to put a small shelf for towels and the hairdryer. The hairdryer was stored in a dresser drawer and we didn't find it until the last morning. The staff were friendly and the packaged pastries/granola bars/sweets available were handy to grab and go. Something we thought was kind of odd was that the staff would ask us to leave our keys at the desk when we went out and pick them up them we returned. The issue was that when we returned and ask for our keys, no one ever asked for any ID or to check that we were, in fact, the people staying in that room and there were new desk attendants at least once who had never seen us bit just handed over the room key without questions. You receive a discount for booking directly from their website, which was nice.
