The front desk staff was good. The breakfast was OK but hot food was terrible, the sausages was cold and 4 small pieces of eggs left in it (all dried up) at 9:45a.m. Supposed the breakfast close at 10a.m but when I asked the attendant to refill some more eggs, she went to check the left over eggs then told me ”there is still some in it”, I said ”it's all dried up and it's not enough for two people, then she told me ”next time you should come earlier. I said ”there were few more people came in after me but nobody wanted to take it”, she told me ”I will try my best”. Finally, I waited 25-30 minutes to get my eggs.

On checking in was told “Only government issued ID!” Offered my Canadian passport or health card. Was told ‘Only a drivers license will do.’ Receptionist was rude. As if I can produce a drivers license on demand. She looked at me as if it were my fault. Hotel policy! Now she had a’too bad for you lady!’ expression on her face. Another lady came out from the back and suddenly I was ok. Given a second floor room after asking for first floor because of our dog. “Hotel is full!” (9pm parking lot virtually empty). Our dog got stressed over the tiled stairs and refused to go up. From her desk the receptionist could see this. Suddenly a 1st floor room was available. Was told on checkout the generally drivers license is the preferred ID .Also told that somewhere it is written in TINY print as policy. ’Tiny’ his word not mine. Never did find it. If they can notify you in bold print about the $250 precharge, they can in same bold print notify you of the ID issues. Extremely bad service! Also was told that the reason they do not like passport or health card photo ID as their staff should not have that info available to them! (think about that for a minute!). Have traveled all over the world and never had an issue like this before. Won’t be using the Comfort Inn chain ever again! If you have a pet..ok…otherwise go to the Ajax Hilton where we always get the best service available.

Stayed one night in June 2024. Booked a room with my points, got an upgrade to a suite due to my Marriott status. Arrived after midnight, front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The suite was very large, clean, modern. The bed was comfortable, bathroom clean, good quality towels. No odor in the room or in the hotel. We got a complementary breakfast, appropriate for this hotel level. There is a food stand across the lobby where one can get fancier food and drinks. Got a “breakfast bowl” and a cup of coffee for around 20 cad. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Good clean hotel, what stood out to us was how friendly the staff were, rooms are clean and provide everything you need. the pool is very small and shallow, would be great for a few kids, but not good for adults looking to relax after driving. the breakfast is the main complaint I had, it is very limited, with premade cheese omelets, that I can’t imagine anyone liking, and the cheapest yogurt, at the prices the budget hotels are charging now, wish they would spend a couple more dollars per person to offer better food.

A hotel that helps a colleague make a mistake. This family was good in all aspects of the evaluation and chose this family. The hotel's been making good comments. Nice position, too! Good recommendation!
Motel 6 Whitby, on - Toronto East

Stayed at this motel on our way home from Toronto. Front desk person not overly friendly and did not accept my health card as ID? not sure why ,had to show my drivers license . Room was bare bones, bedspread was a sheet over a blanket not exactly impressive. When the air was turned off you could smell the stale smoke. Room was very small, no microwave but did have a fridge. The room itself was clean and for that we were happy . No pictures on the walls just bright orange contrast walls, which was not very appealing. Disappointed as from the outside the motel looked very inviting but it was a different story once we had settled in our room.
