White House Cottages

Well equiped cottage close to Durham Overnight stay and much cheaper than in Durham itself. Large unit with a washer/dryer which was extremely useful on a long trip. Good view from bedroom window, nice pub across the road. Friendly host. Would also have been good for a longer stay. Only suggestion would be a clearly visible name plate as it was hard to tell which house was which.

The lovely, quiet location of Brandon Village The Hen House cottage was a great place to stay for our trip in the Durham area. The village of Brandon is a beautiful location for going for walks in the countryside and with a great pub/ restaurant called the Bay Horse Inn on 50m away it’s a perfect place to stay. The village is very close to the historic house, chapels and gardens of Ushaw and Brancepeth Castle, which are both excellent places to visit!! Would happily stay here again when visiting the area as it’s a perfect little hideaway!!

Compact but Perfect We were visiting Ushaw House and this cottage is perfect location for there, Durham and surround area. Great shower, comfy bed. Easy parking outside your door. Lovely village and great pub. The Bay Horse. Thanks to John the owner for the recommendation

I found the property very well laid out , comfortable bed , good water pressure to the ground floor shower. Fresh milk in the fridge was appreciated

Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend as we were visiting Ushaw house and gardens for the classic car show and this is 5 mins away in a beautiful village with great pub. The Bay Horse, as recommended by John the owner of the cottage. Good communication prior to arrival. Comfy bed, great rain shower, dishwasher oven and microwave. Nice little touches like a pint of milk in the fridge salt pepper and oil in the cupboard. Easy parking right outside. Clean and looked after. Definitely worth the money, and lovely village location. .
