A weekend at Balmule has become an annual family tradition and we are just back from this year’s visit. The house fits our needs perfectly - the different receptions rooms mean you can find a quiet corner or be in the ‘body of the Kirk’ being entertained by the youngsters! The kitchen and bar area are very well appointed, you’ll find everything you’ll need to cater for your group - and you can enjoy the experience of cooking on the Aga (roast beef never tasted better). The bedrooms and bathrooms are sheer luxury. The bedrooms are all tastefully decorated and there is lots of hanging space & drawers and the comfiest beds. ….and then there’s outside! A hot tub on the sun terrace is always a popular spot and over in the beautiful walled garden there is a BBQ and patio area. All of this joyful experience is created and managed by the most wonderful host and his amazing team - they really are the best at what they do. If you are considering a trip to Balmule, stop deliberating - just do it! It’s a very special place.

Absolutely magical! This stunning home nestled in the rolling hills of Dunfermline was the perfect retreat for our large family of 23! Surrounded by Highland coos, sheep and breathtaking views, this home was something out of a storybook. The house itself was pure luxury-spacious, beautifully designed and impeccably clean. Every detail reflected the host's thoughtful care and attention. Franc went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. We made unforgettable memories for my mom's 80th birthday here and can't wait to return. If you are looking for peace, beauty and five-star hospitality, this is it!

Where do we even start, myself and now husband came across Balmule when searching for weekend wedding venues. I was drawn to it on more than one occasion, and had to book a viewing and am I so glad we did. From the moment we turned up, even on a December dark night the place was just outstanding. The house itself with being so grand felt cosy and welcoming, Franc showed us around and explained the full wedding weekend transition which sounded seamless, which we soon discovered was exactly that: seamless. We did a tour of the house and all the bedrooms, and honestly the place just gets better and better, the master suite is just incredible, bathroom is bigger than some of the rooms in our own house!!! What really makes Balmule extraordinary is the team. From the moment we booked up they provided us with so much guidance and support, along with recommending multiple different suppliers for our big day. We arrived on the Friday and the team were so welcoming, ensured all our weekend guests where shown there rooms, any small concern from any guest was resolved instantly. The team couldn’t be more attentive and Franc the host is one of the nicest people you could meet. He kept us right and reassured us about so much, he made all our family feel comfortable and ensured our day went as smooth as possible. Both Franc and Charlene went out there way to entertain my nephew during the wedding meal, pulling out Lego and other toys to give my sister five minutes! Balmule holds such a special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait to return one day to experience it all over again.

What a fantastic house for a get together. Franc, the owner, was very responsive which really helped us to plan the weekend without any stresses. The house is stunning and has great amenities throughout. We would recommend this to anyone planning a trip away with friends/family!

The most perfect weekend in a beautifully clean well equipped house. The bathrooms are spacious like never seen before. Such a spacious house and beautiful scenery and outdoor space. Cannot rate this house highly enough. Franc was so helpful and obliging
