Environment: The surrounding environment of the hotel is beautiful. The room is average and the area is too small. There is no place to put the luggage. Facilities: Old house, the elevator can only go to the first floor, and stairs are required on the second floor. Service: average Facilities: All the people dining are elderly people

The hotel room is decorated like a KTV. The location of the hotel is very remote. It does not go into the city. The road to the hotel is blocked by traffic and causes a tire blowout. The road to the hotel is really difficult. The service staff at the hotel are very enthusiastic. The breakfast at the hotel is average. It is generally not recommended to book if you don’t have a car. It is expensive and inconvenient. My friend insisted on making a reservation, but had no choice. Anyway, the way to the hotel felt like driving into a forest. There was no one on the way and the trees were all gloomy. It was difficult to get in. The hotel didn't look like a castle to me, it just kind of looked like it. Not great value for money, other things are fine. The hotel room is really big in the UK. It also has a bathtub and a big toilet. However, the decoration is hard to say like a KTV. It is too big and looks a bit scary. The lobby looks okay during the day, and the hotel entrance is also good. It’s really scary at night~

In terms of the hotel alone, it is very average. You need to go through a rural road to get off the highway. It is very boring to walk at night. For a time, I felt that I had gone to the wrong place. However, luckily, the wheel was punctured when I was approaching the hotel. The British rescued me. It was so bad that I insisted on driving the car to the hotel parking lot. Reception helped contact the car rental company. It was really great. I recorded all the conversation with a pen. I was afraid that I couldn't understand it and even asked me to use Google Translate. This is The best service I have encountered in the whole UK. Unfortunately, the car rental company was so bad. The front desk helped us delay check-out the next day. Overall, it was an excellent hotel experience. Highly recommended!

It's impeccable in every aspect. It's hard to imagine that there would be such an exquisite hotel on the road. It's quiet. The hotel downstairs is also very good. You can also watch the sheep.

An EXCELLENT Country House Hotel. All areas very well appointed. Meals generously portioned and excellent quality. Their current "Autumn Escape" DBB Deal at £145 per night is amazing value for a hotel of this calibre. This hotel is a 5 star experience.

This is a very good hotel, quite modern in style, but very well run. It is set well back from the A75, so road noise is not a problem. Our room was at the back of the hotel, but looked out onto fields. The food in the restaurant is very good and the service is excellent. Thankfully, they do not take dogs! We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Group of local ladies who are aged between 50-70 years old attended afternoon ABBA event on 31/8/24 which was very enjoyable. We have been regular customers over the last few years and have attended many events. At approx 7pm we asked if permissible to have a drink in the front bar prior to our transport picking us up at 8pm. Extremely embarrassed and angered to be subsequently ‘scolded’ for chatting too loudly. Tone and manner in which spoken to by staff was humiliating and shocking. Email complaint was forwarded and response showed no apology of shocking customer service. Patronising comment made by manager that Hetland is a ‘four star hotel not a public bar in a town centre’ and the importance of this ambience. Also comment ‘I can quite understand, that on a ladies night out, after a few drinks, it may not have been realised by your group the noise levels’. Treated like second class citizens who do not know how to behave in social situations. We were merely sitting at a table chatting and laughing politely. Extremely saddened at absolutely shocking customer service.

AMAZING!! Beautiful elegant room, extremely comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom gleaming. Breakfast and dinner 4 nights 5 mornings was delicious. Hot and tasty. Staff so friendly and helpful with being intrusive. Hotel grounds are stunning, immaculately kept gardens. Location was very good for visiting Dumfries and Galloway and only an hours drive from the Lakes. TOTAL PERFECTION

Spotless, well appointed room. Helpful friendly staff. Good evening meal and breakfast. Thoroughly recommend. My husband and I have stayed here a few times now and it makes a lovely start to our trip. Leave here fully refreshed to carry on our journey up to the North of Scotland.
