If you value a good sleep, look elsewhere!! My family and I can hear EVERY conversation from neighboring rooms. Night 1, we were awoken at 1am from the neighbors next door talking loudly for hours. Night 2, we can’t get to sleep because the other neighbors decided to watch a movie at full volume. In all my life, I actually can’t remember staying in a place this bad. I will never stay here again and I will ensure everyone knows how bad it is.

A good place to stay in Duluth. Wonderful breakfast and friendly staff. Situated in the middle of Canal Park. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck facing the lake. We were lucky enough to watch an ore boat come under the Bridge. A couple areas that need attention is the parking lot, the handicap area is not close to where our rooms are. They need handicap parking at both ends of the facility. The outdoor patio bricks are loose and need attention as well picking up trash in the parking lot. We would stay again though.

The hotel is in serious disrepair. We had bees in our room. The air/heating unit was very loud. When I turned on the hot water in the sink, it worked not turn off. There was mold in the crevices of the shower. This place could do with a serious facelift or at a minimum just general repairs and upkeep. A deep cleaning would help. At over $750 for two nights, this was not a bargain. However, if the people keep paying the high rates, the owners have no incentive to put any money back into hotel. This used to be a great hotel that at stayed at many, many times since it opened. I will not return. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly.

We stayed at The Inn Thursday through Sunday in mid August. The AC is sorely inadequate as the room was continually damp. The pool area was always messy, towels on the floor and trash cans overflowing. There were no towels available nearly every time we visited which was frequently. 90% of the time the front desk staff were in the office behind versus at the counter. The s’mores treat each night are a hit with the kids however the amount of marshmallows, crackers and chocolate available was inadequate and gone in short order. The cleanliness over all was not up to par. Carpeting in our room and in the hallways is in need of a good cleaning or replacement. We have stayed at the place often over 25 years and we feel it is not the place it once was. It seems understaffed and lacking in maintenance. Given the rates we expect better.

Breakfast was mediocre. Eggs each day, sausages were more like pieces of kielbasa. Need some bacon or sausage links or patties. No peanut butter or jelly on our last day. Garbages outside never emptied in the 3 days we were there. For s’mores-at 8:30 people had to go and ask for more marshmallows, chocolate and crackers because the bowls were empty and there was only 8 people outside. Front desk staff friendly but never really saw any staff other than cleaners in the hall.

First off, they need to do something about the humidity in the rooms next to the pool. Our beds felt wet, the carpet felt damp under our feet, and the ac was not working properly. They moved us down the hall, and same issues. The patio area leading to the lake was in total chaos. Flower beds on both sides chock full of weeds. Candy wrappers and cigarette butts littered the area, as well as many missing pavers and lots of loose gravel. The tables outside were filthy and askew, and one chair right out the breakfast area had a huge dried bird poop on it, that was there our entire stay. A couple hours of work could have made this area presentable. The other hotels along the lakefront had much neater and more pleasing outdoor seating areas. I did see a photo/review in here from another July visitor regarding this unkempt and very unpleasant area.

This hotel is in a prime location, has got great lake views , but could be so much better! We’ve stayed here a number of times in the last 8 years. Originally, this hotel was maintained nicely. Since Covid, there’s been a lack of maintenance. Dirty baseboards in the bathroom, cigarette butts in the weeds, overflowing trash cans, uncleaned patio tables & the brick patio in disrepair. The parking lot needs repair & the curbs are breaking down. This shows understaffing & a lack of maintenance to the outside.

My white socks were soooo dirty after walking on the room carpet for an hour.
The room smelled musty. I went to the front desk to ask what they could do and they gave me some room spray to use.
Went to the front desk on day 3 asking for room service. No one ever came. When I told the front desk the next day they handed me towels.

Such a disappointment and not worth what I paid.
Apart from one worker, the staff were rude and lazy. The breakfast dining room and outdoor patio were an abomination- dirty tables inside, the water jug constantly empty, zombie-like crew could not have shown less interest in their job. Outside the patio needs resurfacing as the cheap plastic tables all waddle and are unstable.
