The Inn on Lake Superior

The front desk checked someone into our room as an additional on our reservation. The front desk attendant said that we allowed it because the other guest had our confirmation number. We did not give out our confirmation number to anyone. No apology and no admission of a mistake made by the hotel.

Gorgeous view from our balcony. The heated rooftop pool was a plus. The breakfast buffet was better than average. I like that they offer s'mores and bikes to guests and have a patio bonfire at night. The hotel is walking distance to lots of great shops.

Nice hotel but watch what you are charged. We had a gift certificate for $175 and they only gave us a credit for $150 until we mentioned it. Then as they were trying to correct their books, they overcharged us $10. As they tried to fix that, they input the numbers differently and gave us a new printout. Very confusing but in the end our charge card was still overcharged $10.

My husband and I booked this hotel to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. Check in was smooth and we were assigned a room quickly. The location is fantastic and so convenient! The fire pit and pool/hot tub was also a nice amenity. We did not try the breakfast during our stay. HOWEVER, the room was so disappointing. First is the smell, it was very musty. We first noticed the patio door was not closed all the way and would not after multiple attempts. The patio has an amazing view though. As we spent more time in the room we discovered mold on the curtains, it was a large spot. Then in the shower their was mold on the ceiling as well. I called the front desk to advise them of this issue, the person that answered did not say anthing and just asked me what I wanted her to do. So asked her if she thinks they should take the curtain out or replace it. She sounded like my request was a crazy ask. We stayed in the room as I didnt want to deal with someone who definitely didnt care. The next dayi was requesting more towels so I mentioned to the front desk that we have mold in our room. The second front desk associate seemed more concerned and advised she would change our room and speak with the manager about it. We did end of changing rooms but we still foud mold on the curtains and window coverings. The rooms seem very outdated, dingy and musty. The bedding had stains all over it as well as holes. The carpet all over the inn also looked very worn and dirty. For the price paid I guess I had more expectations for the level of service at this facility. We will definitely be checking out other hotels in the area at our next stay.

For the second time since the pandemic, my wife and I were delighted to return to the Inn On Lake Superior to celebrate our wedding anniversary. As always, the Inn provided great hospitality, a spacious lake view room with balcony, free wi-fi and breakfast buffet, free parking, and very good housekeeping. Not to mention the wonderful location in Canal Park, and just steps from the beautiful lake walk along Lake Superior. And the restaurants and activities in Canal Park, and a short walk up to Superior Street added to our visit. The city itself is full of wonderful, uncrowded parks, and a great place to visit.

This hotel has a great location but needs renovation. The air conditioning unit was so noisy that we turned it off. Fortunately, the outside temps were cool. The mattresses were old, worn and lumpy. They were so worn that when we laid down, they felt slanted like we would roll out of bed. We had to sleep diagonally on the mattresses but that wasn't that great either because there was a hard ridge in the middle. In the 4 days we stayed, not one staff member came to our room to clean, replenish supplies and towels, or empty the trash. Zero customer service. We expected more for $360 per night. The one redeeming feature is that the view of Lake Superior was great!

Great location right on the beach. This hotel’s location is perfect for walking to numerous restaurants, the bridge, and lighthouse. It’s right on the big lake. Our room was booked last minute, and we were pleased with how clean and spacious it was. We even saw an air show over the lake. Those people with lakeside rooms had an incredible view. Very happy with our last minute choice.

Great location to walk to the top attractions ,friendly staff to talk to , excellent service and good food / coffee/tea , clean and cozy rooms. Will recommend this hotel to my family members and friends. Looking forward to coming back next Summer.

Our family stayed in canal park for a wedding last weekend. We stayed here for 3 nights with 5 children ages 14-3. I was so surprised by the room for what we paid -$816 for 3 nights. There was mold on the white curtains, the air conditioner doesn’t reach the first room so one room is hot and the other cool, the furniture was in bad shape, peeling wallpaper, a very stained coffee table, drawers held together by tape. We needed to use a set and we found out why they were taped together- they fall open! So we would walk into the drawer if we weren’t paying attention. The breakfast was always empty- and we didn’t go close to closing time. 3 waffles makers. Some scrambled eggs. An empty dried container for oatmeal. Dry cereal. And a juice machine that was empty. I was honestly so surprised at how it was! We paid so much for a good trip for a wedding and Mother’s Day and i feel we way overpaid. Or perhaps we just paid for the location. The view and the patio were amazing! The rooftop pool was good, but full of old towels lying around. The indoor pool, hot tub and sauna were nice. Smores 8-10 is nice but go asap. Starting at 945 they’ll put it all away. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff. Some of them we felt like a complete bother but another man that was running the desk Saturday evening was kind.
