the stay at the hostel was decidedly lacking. The Dublin City Dorms, despite its good location in the city (a short distance from the center of Dublin or the station, overlooking the street), is not very recognizable as the (still temporary) sign is not adequate for correct advertising and the entrance (including the hall) presents itself as an empty work in progress room which gives the idea of an incomplete structure and, above all, not suitable for hosting people. No furniture except a messy desk in the middle of the room where you can check in, uncovered electrical wires, incomplete flooring... Same situation also for getting to our rooms. The rooms inhabited by our group appeared grotesque to say the least: beyond the minimal space occupied by too many beds and a surprisingly even narrower bathroom, in one room we had to spend our overnight stay with a window perpetually open as it was grossly ( and inexplicably) screwed in such a way that it cannot be closed (complaints to the "reception" were useless). It is difficult to communicate the discomfort caused by the dirt present immediately outside this window (moss, dirt, excrement, waste of various kinds) and by the morning wake-up call offered by the contumely of screaming seagulls just above our heads. In the second room, however, it was discovered that the bathroom was probably communicating with the kitchen, which, in moments close to meals, gave off presumably food-related odors into the bathroom itself. As regards the kitchen (and the adjoining refectory), a few lines will not be enough to describe the situation. Two rooms dedicated to culinary activities without windows and with the presence of a hood... obviously not working. Let's imagine the anthology of smells present. Poor level of hygiene on the hob and especially in the washing area where the sink was often full of food residues of various kinds. It was necessary every time to clean these spaces and rewash cutlery, plates and glasses as they were sticky or dirty (this is not attributable to the hostel, but to the education of those hosted). The wallpaper on the walls was peeled off in many places, revealing the previous one. Positive was the fact that someone was always present at the reception and breakfast was provided. Would I go back? NO Is the amount paid adequate? ABSOLUTELY NO Do I recommend it to others? It depends on the nature of the holiday you want to undertake
