We stayed at the MD Hotel Barsha by Gewan 4* in November 2024. The room was on the 3rd floor. We asked for a higher and brighter room, but they gave us a room with windows facing the inside of the building, so the room was a bit dark. There was no balcony, although we asked for one. The best view from this one is of the Burj Al Arab. But they didn’t give it to us.
Russian-speaking manager Lana, so there is no language barrier. Lana always helped us solve our problems. We need more staff like her. We ask you to support such employees and reward Lany for her professionalism and competence, or provide an extra day of rest. I ask for a review of the hotel in response to our request.
The hotel menu is buffet style. At the time of check-in, the breakfast was not impressive: the room was small, there was a crowd of people, they didn’t have time to clear the tables, the girl who cleared the tables was very slow - she looked at the tables and then walked on. The situation was saved only by young people who came very quickly sometimes and cleared the tables very quickly. The children have nothing to eat, no fruit, except for sliced watermelons and pieces of melon. We only got hard-boiled eggs once. Mostly we ate fried eggs or omelettes. It seems that the food in the hotel is not cooked. Even the croissants were not very fresh. The dishes are not varied. There is nothing to praise. The breakfasts are very modest, monotonous for one star! It seemed to us that breakfast really can and should impress guests. We were disappointed. We initially planned to take lunches and dinners at the hotel. However, after such breakfasts, we changed our minds. Thus, the hotel lost more than one hundred dirhams. True, within 10 days the hotel changed the breakfast room. I hope that the assortment has also changed. The hotel is undergoing renovations: they are changing the tiles, changing the lobby - the appearance has become much better. The owners are investing in the hotel. For my birthday, they promised a complimentary cake. We never got it. For comparison, one of the hotels gave us a cake weighing about 600 grams. It's not about a piece of cake, but about the interest in customers, their value, the presence of a loyalty program for customers/guests, including a discount on birthdays or a special dessert.
The most important and undoubted advantage of this hotel is a heated jacuzzi and a swimming pool, at least during our stay. The pool is small and has no beautiful view. There are sun loungers, towels, and umbrellas. You need to ask to turn on the sauna in advance if you plan to visit.
The metro, shops, restaurants, and an exchange office are within walking distance from the hotel. If it weren't for the breakfasts, we would be 100 percent satisfied with the hotel.
The impression of staying in this hotel is contradictory. Read the reviews carefully before your trip. The price of rooms in the hotel is not very low. Therefore, it may make sense to add a couple of thousand and take a hotel with a higher class of food quality. Be sure to consider the features of the hotel for the most comfortable stay with children in order to make the right choice when preparing for your vacation.
